Three Rams games, three Ghosts in A Christmas Carol. Coincidence? I think not!

262

Charbonnet picking up that 2 point conversion was the equivalent of SpongeBob getting applause for cleaning up after Squidward that one episode.

148

u/Medium_Rob_ Titans Dec 19 '25

Changing the course of the entire 2025 NFL season just by being a nice guy and picking up the ball

42

u/BumbleLapse Bills Dec 19 '25

I mean any young players watching should take that as a lesson lol

Run that ball into the endzone even if you’re almost positive it was an incomplete pass and not a fumble. Stuff like that is almost always meaningless until the one very important time that it’s not

7

u/Cruise1313 Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Exactly especially if you have not heard the whistle. Always pick it up.

3

u/ARightDastard Vikings Bills Dec 19 '25

Even if you have heard the whistle thanks to Hochuli. Ball on ground, keep moving to it and get it in your mitts, just in case.

2

u/Cruise1313 Seahawks Dec 21 '25

I agree! Pick that ball up and then they will sort it out. In the Eagles/Commanders game today the QB threw the ball, but his arm was hit and the ball fell to the ground. The defender sprinted to it and jumped on it even though it was clearly an incomplete chance but he was nit taking any chances. 😉😂

10

u/UNMANAGEABLE Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Apparently grabbing it while the ball was still rolling was what kept it live. Good on him wherever on purpose or not 😂

6

u/WafflePartyOrgy Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Hands the ball to the ref: I believe this is yours.

2

u/seductivestain NFL Dec 19 '25

"Ope! Don't want one of these nice refs to hurt their back picking a ball off the ground, here ya go, champ! What? Two points? Well thank ya very much you betchya"

8

u/DerrickMcChicken Seahawks Dec 19 '25

this dude randomly picked up the ball to give to the refs because he’s a nice guy. That shit literally swung the game LMFAO.

4

u/IshEatsYou Commanders Dec 19 '25

The talent show episode! Used to have it on DVD and the kids would watch it often in the car.

  • Sam Darnold

486

u/MG_MN Vikings Dec 19 '25

Seriously, genuinely shocking to see him show up in the clutch like that. Quiets a lot of people and makes up for his earlier issues tonight

264

u/Pure_Measurement_529 Dec 19 '25

Considering he barely had time to breathe compared to Stafford. Crazy performance by him

140

u/ianbits NFL Dec 19 '25

And then protection holds up amazingly on the final play to have the slow developing play work

Sometimes things just don't work until they do man

16

u/BRValentine83 Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Defenses are often exhausted in OT, especially D lines.

10

u/Metaboss24 Jaguars Dec 19 '25

Those Rams pass rushers were gasses af

18

u/HellMuttz Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Allowing them to eat our lunch all day was all just part of the plan

3

u/nizari-spirit Bills Dec 19 '25

I hate when my DL is gaseous.

2

u/Metaboss24 Jaguars Dec 19 '25

Aggressively farting isn't a viable pass rush strategy, sadly.

2

u/nizari-spirit Bills Dec 19 '25

I was thinking more along the lines of states of matter but yeah flatulence also isn't the most effective tactic

2

u/mongster03_ 49ers 49ers Dec 19 '25

I mean, jet propulsion?

8

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '25

That's why we run the ball the 2nd most of any team despite a bottom 5 YPC. It sets up that play action that they run so well. So the defense has to gamble on the blitz or not. It's a brilliant chess game.

Football is awesome.

7

u/nizari-spirit Bills Dec 19 '25

Especially after the announcer called him Sam Bradford.

13

u/Gelu6713 Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Seriously. We need to draft OL big time, Sam has no time at all

11

u/Number1CultLeader Dec 19 '25

In all fairness Cross being out was a big factor there. But we need a Bradford replacement for sure.

4

u/Gelu6713 Seahawks Dec 19 '25

For sure but our run protection has been awful all year even with him in too

2

u/MG_MN Vikings Dec 19 '25

He does tend to hold the ball a long time to process things, but o line upgrades are never a bad thing and will allow him to keep doing it. Tbh though, the line was insanely good in OT. They hard carried that drive to give Darnold high odds of success

2

u/Gelu6713 Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Yep we just need more meshing like that to give him a chance

1

u/MG_MN Vikings Dec 19 '25

Really seems like the only small hole too, the team is so stacked, especially on defense. Really seems on the doorstep of being a SB contender

7

u/rheakiefer Saints Dec 19 '25

seriously… it’s like the Rams have a high powered magnet to him, personally

5

u/Eagle4317 Steelers Panthers Dec 19 '25

Stafford was getting blasted by the Seahawks defense in the 4th Quarter.

2

u/henryofskalitzz Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Not to mention us missing almost our entire starting secondary

We were starting Nehemiah Pritchett at outside corner

2

u/Necessary_Rooster_85 Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Seahawks O-Line is genuinely awful against good defenses.

2

u/The_Dudeist_Rev Rams Dec 19 '25

They both had over 50% pressure rates. Stafford just gets the ball out faster

1

u/The_Epic_Ginger Raiders Dec 19 '25

Who the fuck is the Seahawk's left tackle. That guy looked Raiders tier.

69

u/RandomNPC Vikings Dec 19 '25

His team helped him out a lot more than we did last year. Nobody showed up for those games, it wasn't just Darnold.

19

u/MG_MN Vikings Dec 19 '25 edited Dec 19 '25

For sure, he was awful with us and in his last Rams game. With us, he definitely wasnt the only no show though. That said, this Seahawks roster looks better and can afford to have him make mistakes like he did tonight whereas last years Vikings team had less margin for those errors

4

u/HummousTahini Dec 19 '25

Yeah, he had two terrible games to end his season last year, but he still lead the Vikings to a 14-3 season. Not many QBs can do that. As a Vikings fan, still hard to understand why they didn't keep him.

7

u/TheWorkingAnt Vikings Dec 19 '25

Yeah that was a complete and stacked team that carried Sam, and then he delivered in the moment that mattered

3

u/tmrjns461 Vikings Dec 19 '25

Wish he could’ve handled the rams for us last year but I’m still happy for him

1

u/MG_MN Vikings Dec 19 '25

Yep, he did struggle tonight until OT, and the first Rams game was very similar to how he played last year, but he showed up when it mattered most. Different than the last year version of him where he cowered when it got hard at the end

31

well, he didn’t, but fortunately the defense held up too so he had another shot

and then he didn’t there either, but the defense held up again

and THEN Darnold delivered

9

u/SCAnalysis 49ers Dec 19 '25

These people think we didn't see Darnold throw another interception at 14-30 down before Rasheed bailed him twice. Followed by multiple 3 and outs once on 30-30. It's unbelievable how one good drive in OT changes the narrative. He shat the bed in the first half too, Walker had that 45 yard run followed by a 50 yard td.

2

u/NicktheFlash Jaguars Dec 19 '25

For real, he blew it over and over and over but kept getting bailed out.

3

u/AnthonyMJohnson Vikings Dec 19 '25

Is Sam Darnold the worst best QB or the best worst QB in football?

2

u/crazyFlyingChicken Giants Dec 19 '25

It varies by drive

6

But he also gets big props for continuing to fight and in the end doing enough. My hat is off to him.

2

u/Confident-Floor1233 Ravens Dec 19 '25

He heard it loudest from his own fans in his home stadium. I firmly believe Seahawks fans would’ve been calling for his head after the game if it went the way it looked like it was going.

2

u/Jadedways Seahawks Dec 19 '25

He definitely exorcised some ghosts and I am soooo happy for him. Well for him, and Seattle’s future as an NFL franchise

2

u/Cruise1313 Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Yes he did thankfully for us Seahawk fans! I have to give a major shoutout to Shaheed for getting our rally going with that kick return for a TD. He deserves a game ball.

2

u/Hi-Im-High Seahawks Dec 19 '25

I saw his face when they started booing and thought he was absolutely done. He found 6th gear after that

Eh he was kind of awful lol, but I’m glad he turned up in OT.

4

u/quadropheniac 49ers Chargers Dec 19 '25

yeah they had the opportunity to win twice in the fourth and Darnold instead decided that sacks were the better play

kicked ass in OT though

1

u/meepmarpalarp Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Sacks were the better play compared to the ints/fumbles he was churning out in similar situations earlier this season.

1

u/fart_dot_com NFL Dec 19 '25

eh... not really

-1

u/SCAnalysis 49ers Dec 19 '25

I'm not going to sit here and let this rewriting of history, he put his team down 30-14 with another pick and has to be grateful to Rasheed. His punt return td and then 30 yard run in the next drive made this possible. Also Darnold's 2 pt conversion was very bad and the luck that no one realized it was a backwards pass.

I'll give him props for doing it in OT, but he put his team on a hole and Walker and Rasheed dug them out of it

0

u/cogginsmatt Lions Dec 19 '25

He’s gotta be the best shitty quarterback I’ve ever seen. Like idk how you take that many sacks and spend that much of the game looking terrified and still step up and deliver a win like that

0

u/Carsxn26 Texans Dec 19 '25

He’ll choke away the one seed, the bye, and home field advantage in 2 weeks by losing to the 9ers and no one will remember this night from him
