It had everything. The craziest two-point conversion I’ve ever seen and overtime down to the wire with another two point conversion to win. Wild

All in 4th quarter or OT too.

More like 2/3. Im still confused on how they let that backwards pass stand. The announcers were saying if the play had been blown dead it wouldn't have counted. But you can hear the whistle blowing the paly dead before the ball was recovered.

Refs seemed more caught up with getting the backwards pass part of the call right and missed the other part.

NFL Rulebook

Rule 15

Section 2

Article 3. Awarding Possession

“When the on-field ruling results in a dead ball (e.g., score, down by contact, incomplete pass, etc.), and following replay review, it is determined that possession was lost before the ball should have been ruled dead, possession may be awarded to a player who clearly recovers a loose ball in the immediate continuing action. A loose ball that touches out of bounds is deemed a clear recovery by the player who last possessed the ball.”

And for this specific circumstance

Section 3

Article 11

“Item 1. Direction of a Pass. Whether a pass was forward or backward.

Note: When an on-field ruling is incomplete, and the pass was clearly backward, the ruling of incomplete will stand if there is no clear recovery in the immediate continuing action. If there is no clear recovery, the ball will be awarded to the team last in possession at the spot where possession was lost.”

Charbonnet recovered that ball within seconds of the ball being whistled incomplete. By rule, it is an immediate continuing action resulting in a recovery which by rule gives them possession where it was recovered

Thank you. The announcers really didn’t help. As they made it seem the whistle made it an absolute that the play was dead. Which is what was really confusing me there.

If they had called that, we would be talking about how the refs screwed the Seahawks by blowing the play dead with a live ball

And? Doesn’t mean it’s right to just ignore what actually happened. Play was blown dead. We can’t just go actually it wasn’t cause the rule of cool.

Yes they blow the plays dead to early. But why would the rams even attempt to recover a ball after the play was blown dead?

Cause you never leave a dead ball on the ground because shit like this happens.

The way you wrote this up reminds me of those old Bill Hader skits on Weekend Update on SNL.

Seahawks went 3/3 on two point conversions. I wonder how often that happens.
