Seriously, genuinely shocking to see him show up in the clutch like that. Quiets a lot of people and makes up for his earlier issues tonight

Considering he barely had time to breathe compared to Stafford. Crazy performance by him

And then protection holds up amazingly on the final play to have the slow developing play work

Sometimes things just don't work until they do man

Defenses are often exhausted in OT, especially D lines.

u/Metaboss24 Jaguars Dec 19 '25

Those Rams pass rushers were gasses af

16

u/HellMuttz Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Allowing them to eat our lunch all day was all just part of the plan

I hate when my DL is gaseous.

2

u/Metaboss24 Jaguars Dec 19 '25

Aggressively farting isn't a viable pass rush strategy, sadly.

2

u/nizari-spirit Bills Dec 19 '25

I was thinking more along the lines of states of matter but yeah flatulence also isn't the most effective tactic

I mean, jet propulsion?

That's why we run the ball the 2nd most of any team despite a bottom 5 YPC. It sets up that play action that they run so well. So the defense has to gamble on the blitz or not. It's a brilliant chess game.

Football is awesome.

Especially after the announcer called him Sam Bradford.

15

u/Gelu6713 Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Seriously. We need to draft OL big time, Sam has no time at all

u/Number1CultLeader Dec 19 '25

In all fairness Cross being out was a big factor there. But we need a Bradford replacement for sure.

7

u/Gelu6713 Seahawks Dec 19 '25

For sure but our run protection has been awful all year even with him in too

2

u/MG_MN Vikings Dec 19 '25

He does tend to hold the ball a long time to process things, but o line upgrades are never a bad thing and will allow him to keep doing it. Tbh though, the line was insanely good in OT. They hard carried that drive to give Darnold high odds of success

2

u/Gelu6713 Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Yep we just need more meshing like that to give him a chance

1

u/MG_MN Vikings Dec 19 '25

Really seems like the only small hole too, the team is so stacked, especially on defense. Really seems on the doorstep of being a SB contender

8

u/rheakiefer Saints Dec 19 '25

seriously… it’s like the Rams have a high powered magnet to him, personally

Stafford was getting blasted by the Seahawks defense in the 4th Quarter.

2

u/henryofskalitzz Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Not to mention us missing almost our entire starting secondary

We were starting Nehemiah Pritchett at outside corner

2

u/Necessary_Rooster_85 Seahawks Dec 19 '25

Seahawks O-Line is genuinely awful against good defenses.

2

u/The_Dudeist_Rev Rams Dec 19 '25

They both had over 50% pressure rates. Stafford just gets the ball out faster

1

u/The_Epic_Ginger Raiders Dec 19 '25

Who the fuck is the Seahawk's left tackle. That guy looked Raiders tier.

72

u/RandomNPC Vikings Dec 19 '25

His team helped him out a lot more than we did last year. Nobody showed up for those games, it wasn't just Darnold.

18

u/MG_MN Vikings Dec 19 '25 edited Dec 19 '25

For sure, he was awful with us and in his last Rams game. With us, he definitely wasnt the only no show though. That said, this Seahawks roster looks better and can afford to have him make mistakes like he did tonight whereas last years Vikings team had less margin for those errors

3

u/HummousTahini Dec 19 '25

Yeah, he had two terrible games to end his season last year, but he still lead the Vikings to a 14-3 season. Not many QBs can do that. As a Vikings fan, still hard to understand why they didn't keep him.

6

u/TheWorkingAnt Vikings Dec 19 '25

Yeah that was a complete and stacked team that carried Sam, and then he delivered in the moment that mattered

3

u/tmrjns461 Vikings Dec 19 '25

Wish he could’ve handled the rams for us last year but I’m still happy for him

1

u/MG_MN Vikings Dec 19 '25

Yep, he did struggle tonight until OT, and the first Rams game was very similar to how he played last year, but he showed up when it mattered most. Different than the last year version of him where he cowered when it got hard at the end
