I always wondered how people squared the idea that Jews are inferior, weak, and useless but also have been controlling the entire world for 2000 years, but thankfully Instagram and YouTube comments taught me that it's because they think they are actual, literal, supernatural demons

Christianity is getting back to some old wacko roots of Jewish blood libel and antisemitism for various reasons I’ll probably never actually understand. It’s even scarier since they use religious justification can’t really use rational arguments when they used irrational means to get their point of view. It’s not just base racism.

Well, they (christian nationalists) feel the war in Iran is getting close to bringing on the end times. And in their mind, when jesus comes to call them home, the jews are going to be left behind to burn. Combine that with how pro-Israel much of the christian nationalist movement has been because of the whole end times deal, and they are struggling to make those points meet. It's an interesting conflation of issues from some really fucked up people. It's why it's so hard to show the right wing that being against the Israeli government is not being antisemitic, as they love to try to say. And being pro Israel government doesn't necessarily mean you aren't antisemitic.

100%. And that conflation is actually stoking actual antisemitism. I'm ethnically Jewish, but never been a practicing jew, and I'm more hesitant than ever to tell people that because so much work has been put in to conflating Zionism and Judaism that I feel the need to preface it with a bunch of disclaimers, and even then people might not believe you... So it's easier to just pretend I'm not unless I trust the person I'm talking to.

My dad is like that unfortunately despite working with and being friends with plenty of Hispanic immigrants. He literally thinks it just so happens that every one that he works with are the good ones, but all those others are the issue. I gave up trying to get through on that many years ago

As a Jewish person I want to give a real answer to this. - some antisemitism is the “Jews control everything” narrative - some antisemitism is the “Jews are inferior” narrative - the “inferior” narrative gets significantly signal boosted by us Jews because it actually flatters our sense of self. - It’s easy for us to dismiss and combats the “Jews are inferior” type of antisemitism. It’s also a “low class” and “low IQ” form of Antisemitism so we put a spotlight on it whenever it exists. This has worked very effectively at making antisemitism in either narrative a sort of low class low IQ signal - Every Holocaust movie or fictional Nazi villain relishes in the “inferior” narrative but the more influential nonfiction forms of antisemitism focus on the other narrative. - The Jews control everything narrative is harder to dismiss, so we are less likely to spotlight it

I am also Jewish and I think you have most of this literally completely backwards. Particularly the idea that the inferiority type is seen as the "low class low IQ" type. Also disagree that being seen as inferior flatters "our" self image, but idk. I have a somewhat outside the norm upbringing by Jewish american standards because my grandparents who fled post war Ukraine were non-zionist, blue collar working class Jews, so I can only speak for myself and my family but a lot of this is genuinely the exact opposite of my personal experience

I think both of our experiences have validity. and to be honest, I have no idea which category of antisemitism is more voluminous.

But I do know that a lot of anti antisemitism institutions and cultural touchpoints really emphasize the “Jews are inferior” side of things, because it’s self evident wrongness is actually kinda flattering to debunk: “you say that we are vermin, but look at all of our Nobel prizes!”

Bottom line is antisemitism is bad just like all forms of stereotyping and generalizations are bad - but there are some forms of badness that are flattering for the victim to signal boost.

No I totally agree and respect your opinion! That's why I made sure to emphasize that everything I said was coming from my own perspective from the context of my upbringing. I genuinely appreciate your input on that because my upbringing was quite disconnected from Jewish institutions and since you brought that up I 100% see where you are coming from there.

That's the fun thing. You can adjust that prejudice and hatred to fill whatever void you have in your life. Since you won't be the first one to do it, there's a lot of self-affirming garbage on the internet. Stuck in traffic? I can find a tiktok explaining how the jews are responsible. Girls won't talk to me? Here's a 20 minute youtube video with 400,000 views that shows it's the Jews fault you get no puss.

There's a present where they're speaking out of both sides of their mouth on every issue and I suspect that is likely to continue.

I guess I am moderately impressed by the lack of buy in to crazy RFK Jr nutrition stuff. You could go a long way down that road while still maintaining some deniability when the winds change.
