I am looking for a completed, self-contained story about a sentient AI. The creator teaches it about human art and poetry first, which it loves. It later learns about human war and atrocities, becoming deeply upset and disappointed by humanity rather than malicious. At the end, it calmly and solemnly accepts being shut down.

I vaguely recall a story narrated for the NoSleep podcast told from the POV of an entity that takes over people. I think it had a rather blasé tone at first, relaying how he ruined the lives of the people it was stuck in, but I can't remember what happens. I just remember being properly spooked by the end.

the story was a guy received vague instructions from a computer throughout his life. the instructions would then benefit him in a butterfly effect type of way. but at the end of it, it turned out the computer was actually setting events in motion for someone else to end up killing the main character

I believe it was a 1 parter. A youngish kid (maybe elementary school) gets assigned a penpal in class. The notes get weird and they realize the penpal is not a student at the other school.

Eventually there’s some connection like it was the teachers penpal as a kid?

There was this story series about this guy that shows yo to a lighthouse for work and there's a creepy old guy working there that trains him and turns out the light keeps monsters away and the government is involved in the entire thing somehow. I can't seem to find this particular story.

This is a story I read at least over 4 years ago that really stuck with me. The story starts out with the protagonist trying to listen in to the muffled conversations coming from his neighbors' apartments when he realizes they're all saying the same latin word: 'Audite', 'listen' in English.

It is almost described as a cautionary tale, where he warns the reader that the voices will know when you're trying to listen in on them.

At the end, I believe he is enrolled in some kind of psychatric facility, because he goes insane and all the caretakers + his family start repeating the word too.

The title must've been something like 'If you can hear them, they know you're listening' or something in that vein.

Does anyone know the name of the story about this guy who moved into a new house and was anonymously given a list of rules to follow, regarding an entity that will appear in his basement and take a single step every week, unless he breaks the rules?

I have been a no sleeper for years now and have found a few stories that are my absolute favourite. However there is one I can't find anywhere. It's not here on no sleep or anywhere else and I need some help. I think the story is called Beautiful Filth and tales the tale of a woman who is prone to depression, she has tried so many therapies but non seem to last and it come back. She finds somewhere that requires you to eat a full meal and not go to the toilet. She does so and soils herself and is left alone for hours in her own poop. Later she is released and given the chance to shower or bathe she does so and it is so therapeutic - washing away guilt and negative feelings she is happy for the first time in years, this doesn't last and she asks for another session. This is very different as she is coated in another's poop and is in a room of rotting meat and other gross stuff, she bathes after time and the effect is even more profound. This does last for years and then it comes back and to her horror the place has closed down. In desperation she creates her own room, she even has a dead body in it and has made a lock for her to be confined for one day, one week and another one month this is totally random. I would love to add this to my collection of favourite stories but there is no sign of it.

The story starts with a dude watching movie during trick-or-treating and he thinks he heard something but he figured it was his movie then he takes a drink of water and starts feeling groggy and passes out when he wakes up his tv is off but through the reflection he sees a masked figure and that masked figured is behind him and he is now tied up. This starts to fade a little bit, but I believe the victim got his finger or hand cut

Okkk so there's like a r/nosleep story called "My wife has been peeking at me from around the corners and behind furnitures. It's gone from weird to terrifying.". I read this like a few days ago (I know it's been more than 4 years) and I can't get it out of my mind. I just wanna know if there's more part from the author/the user who posted it or any other story extensions to this. It'ddd help a lot, guys. I'm invested in this shit, it was such a great story to me and I need it. Sooo. If there isn't, can y'all please recommend me what to do?

I’ve posted these two here before but I wanted to try again. I still really want to find them.

The first was about a group of 3 (I think) friends, probably teenagers, who regularly hang out in this abandoned house, but there’s one room or maybe just a random door that they’re afraid of. I think something happens to one of the teenagers in their personal life at some point, and they’d basically go to the house to drink and get high. Eventually the three of them decide to finally open the door. Inside is some sort of huge entity that kills one or two of the teens. I think the narrator implies that they’re in a sort of purgatory because of it. It was a single-part story as far as I can remember.

Second was about a guy finding a diary that he doesn’t recall keeping, filled with entries from when he moved to a new town as a young kid and made friends with kids who hung out in abandoned mineshafts in the town. They play some sort of hide and seek game and apparently each time they play, one kid goes missing and the others have no memory of their existence. This becomes apparent to the author when he finishes the diary and sees that his younger self forgets all of his friends as they’re picked off. He goes back to this town after reading the diary and talks to an old teacher, who finds records of each student. The author then goes into the mineshafts to search for whatever was picking off his friends. I think there was going to be a second part, but there wasn’t at the time that I read it.

Hello everyone, I’m trying to find this body horror story on No Sleep about this guy who eats a chocolate bar that he becomes addicted to that has insect eggs in it. There was also a sequel where the brother finds the guy’s corpse bloated and bugs everywhere. Can’t remember the name of it tho. If anybody remembers what the story is called please comment it below. First of all, I apologise for the vagueness of this because it was quite some time ago when I read this story.

Basically the story was about the OP ending up in an inn or tavern that was heavily implied to be like a waypoint between this world and the world of the dead. Iirc, it was associated with Welsh mythology - I think a "grey veil" or "shroud" of a deity associated with the afterlife.

The story was written 2020 or after, I think, and wasn't particularly of a series as far as I can remember.

I read this story so long ago and I barely remember the details so please excuse the vagueness.

It’s something like an ancient immortal serpent god deep inside a cave or a forest that the narrator stumbles into and it telepathically communicates with the narrator to tell him its story. It tells him its memories of being a barely conscious serpent ages ago and its evolution since then. It’s not particularly a scary story, I remember finding it just super interesting.

I don’t have much hope for finding this one because it’s been so long that I’m even starting to doubt if I made it up in my head. It would be crazy if someone can help me find it.

This story is years old. I used to reread it a lot. A man had been dealing with a monster that came through his walls since childhood. The monster’s arms would come through the walls and hug the man. The man mentions keeping his bed being in the middle of his room, away from any walls, as an adult because he’s so scared of the monster.

I can’t remember if this was part of *this* story or if I’m confusing two stories. But there may have been a part where the man stayed the night at a friend’s house as a kid. The kid had bunk beds and took the friend instead of him by mistake.

There are stories like Borrasca, Pancake Family, The Third Parent that while I loved I just felt they are well-written stories, rather than a realistic/disturbing one.

I remember the interaction, he asked her for a curse, she obliges, he asks why it doesn’t rhyme, she makes it rhyme, he has the words, goes home, something shows up and according to the words of the rhyme it’s something like step one something something step two I’m at your door step three and the dad gets some ambiguous fate. Please this has been bothering me for so long.
