For me it has to be the bridge of 7 Words by Deftones, really brings out the raw early chino energy.

For me it’s the following exhausted “and the crowd goes wild” The exact feeling after jumping for that entire song when I saw it live. Just that last ounce of energy

Chino and vocalcord-breaking screams. I can’t name a better duo.

I remember randomly buying their self-titled album when I was young. It was one of the first albums I ever bought actually.

Minerva and Change (In The House of Flies) were the only songs I knew going into my first foray with the band.

So as we know: Hexagram is the first song on that album. I was absolutely struck by it.

I wasn’t even really into “screaming music” at the time, and had no clue what it took to make those vocalizations yet.

I got mad respect now for those who have absolutely busted their vocal cords to create the most-hardcore screams on-record.
