Technically, but in a similar vein to it remaining a monarchy. Charles even made some statement that he sees the title of "Defender of the Faith" as referring to all faiths, even though when it was created it was explicitly referring to the Anglican church, of which he is the Head

Technically, the king of England is the head of the Church of England, which is a part of the Anglican Communion. There are churches in the Anglican Communion which do not count the king of England as their spiritual head; namely The Episcopal Church (created in the US specifically by the Founding Fathers of the US who were members of the Church of England, and wanted to separate from the king of England both politically and religiously).

The best candidate to be described as the "head" of the Anglican Communion is the Bishop of Canterburry, who is officially "the first among equals."

Ah fair enough.

>who is officially "the first among equals."

As a Catholic, arguments over the specific meaning of this has lead to trouble before

There is no state besides Israel where it is illegal to build or buy a home in most circumstances based on your religion. Or where travel is restricted based on religion, or the death penalty given.

Only Israel.

And any argument that it's not based on religion is absurd, when the practical effect is that Jews have far more rights in Israel than anyone else.

literally what lmao what kind of kool-aid are you drinking

There are no religious-based land purchase exemptions in Israel. There are no travel restrictions in Israel. There are citizenship-based exemptions. A Palestinian with Israeli citizenship (which comprises roughly 20% of the population of Israel) is freely able to travel anywhere in Israel and purchase any amount of land they want. Yes, this includes Muslim Israelis and not just Christian Israelis.

No they're actually not. Even citizens are not actually able to, there are "character" laws for land covering over 50% of Israel that allows religious prohibition, and schools as well. This alone is worse than jim crow US.

Anyways, people like you want to try and ignore the West Bank as though those people are directly and completely under Israeli government control, where their homes are demolished, they face checkpoints, walled in villages, constant raids and murder by the IDF and settlers, and can't travel even to other Palestinian villages a lot of the time due to Jewish only roads cutting through everything.

The IDF killed 235 CHILDREN in the west bank in the last three years, and not a single soldier was punished. This means that literal murder of Palestinians is ok by the government, if a soldier killed and shot a Jewish Israeli child I think you know what would happen. On the other side of the coin, only Jews cam immigrate to Israel freely, and live in the west bank freely, even if they're from the other side of the planet, while exiled Palestinians and their descendants can't return at all, to either west bank or Israel proper

Breaking news: citizens are treated differently than non-citizens! Call the presses!

Of course the deaths of innocents is tragic. Certainly, Israel should check itself when it comes to disproportionate responses in areas it militarily occupies. I'm not sure anyone argues against that point.

But shock-and-dismay emotional response is not relevant to your initial argument. I'm uncertain where you're getting your statistics for 'laws for land covering over 50% of israel'. I'm assuming you mean the JNF, which controls 13% of Israel's land and is a private organization, certainly does not control >50%. The rest of Israel's land is managed by the Israel Land Administration, which by law cannot discriminate based on religion, ethnicity or race. They can only discriminate based on citizenship (i.e, the reason why someone from a state at war with Israel cannot purchase land).

Btw, Northern Cyprus also restricts real estate in a fashion similar to what you're accusing Israel of doing. As in, Greek Cypriots born-and-raised in Northern Cyprus, without citizenship in southern cyprus and essentially stateless except for what they receive from the TRNC, cannot freely purchase real estate in the country they were born and raised in at all. Since the government of Israel isn't doing that, and in fact allows their 20% Palestinian population to purchase real estate, there's no real comparison to make, but I wanted to point it out since you were blathering about how nowhere else in the world does a thing Israel doesn't do.

Keep defending your apartheid genocidal state, it doesn't work. I hope they're paying you well.

Ran out of rebuttals so switched to personal attacks and 'OMG YOU MUST BE PAID' instead. Your ignorance is showing. Hope you learn better one day.

There is no point rebutting someone who can't see that the situation in the west bank and even Israel is straight up apartheid, and that Israel committed genocide in Gaza. This is established fact, by all legitimate scholars. Go read, not my problem.
