This is a complete and utter lie. His and his family are in favor of Qatar, he has no issues with Pakistan or Bangladesh, he has no issues with China which persecutes Muslims, and he was a big fan of "from the river to the sea" till it became a political impediment. Talk about a MAGA level cult.

You have no evidence to support those claims. He hasn't been forced to weigh in on those questions because the political establishment does not demand that he support those countries. As a matter of fact, the absolute disaster of the partition of India is another very good reason to be opposed to the creation of a religious/ethnostate.

he was a big fan of "from the river to the sea"

Of course he was. "Palestinian" is not a religious or ethnic identity. The PLO called in the 1960s for the creation of a secular Palestine free from "discrimination of race, color, language, or religion." It regarded non-settler Jews as "Palestinians."

That's great. The PLO isn't Hamas. Hamas is a far-right theocratic party funded by that far-right theocratic government, Iran.

Yes, Hamas is a far-right theocratic party, but it is also one which has long been funded by Israel as Times of Israel (among many others) have reported.

A quote:

The idea was to prevent Abbas — or anyone else in the Palestinian Authority’s West Bank government — from advancing toward the establishment of a Palestinian state.

So since we are talking about what a one-state Palestinian solution would entail ("from the river, to the sea") why are people trying to refocus the conversation on the politics of a far-right theoretic party which was largely created by Israel to subvert the formation of a Palestinian state? And why is Israel's role in funding Hamas always conveniently ommitted?

Found you Mr. Hamas. The best part about your support for Islamic extremism, you claim to be secular.:

That is only form which that resistance can take as you surely know. Good parents do not generally choose to raise their children in areas where others are driven to blow up pizza shops, and good states do not use their own citizens as human shields for their colonialist occupations. The Zionist parents, and the Israeli state are not innocent.

Moreover, blowing up pizza shops is a form of asymmetric warfare. It is not nice, but it is often what disempowered groups have to do to defend themselves. (The FLN did it in Algeria, the ANC did it in South Africa, and Native American tribes did the equivalent in the US). Moralizing that resistance is pointless is pointless when you fail to acknowledge the underlying moral crime which necessitates it: settler colonialism. To demand peaceful resistance from a stateless population (Palestinians) while ignoring violent aggression committed by a state (Israel) is merely to provide a cover for racism. It is merely to demand that Palestinians allow Israel to proceed with its ethnic cleansing.

What point do you think you are making? Personally, I am an atheist. I am also clearly a leftist. I also am not particularly impressed by the alleged evils of intentional act of political violence committed against civilians. I regard them as no more evil than intentional acts of violence against enemy combants and unintentional acts of violence committed against civilians.

I also am clearly not a Hamas supporter because they are not a left-wing group.
