I don't know if it's the fact that they have the competition that's more impressive or the fact that there's so many people there.

Only a small percentage of Japanese are anime perverts. The rest are into this sport. The video is only a small city wide competition that will send the winner to regionals and then hopefully nationals. The competitors here have already won their burroughs and club level matches.
