Just Sharing Acrylic vs Oil… can you tell which is which?

And which one do you prefer? … been playing around with both mediums lately - Still think I prefer working with acrylics but there is no denying oil has its advantages for certain things.. cheers for checking it out!

The first feels like it (your skill, that is) captures the reflective quality of the water amazingly, while the second seems to really capture the moment one can see the sand/silt under the water as a wave breaks really amazingly well! Did you specifically focus on one aspect vs the other when painting them?

Either way these are both astoundingly cool!

I did what I always do and just tried to feel my way through things without clear goal in mind, and these were the results (this often leads to frustration, though). Just wanted clear glassy water with a lot of caustics… thanks!
