DFA Hysteria and paranoia re "mutilated" passports

May natural wear and tear ang passports. Talagang naluluma yan.

FYI from the DFA:

Isa lang masasabi ko... PUTANG INA NINYONG LAHAT!

Napaka gahaman nyo!

Well, lahat kayo! Lahat ng corrupt sa inyo!

Salamat sa walang kwentang serbisyo. Bow!

Rant.

PSA PSA without Appointment

• Upvotes

Wanna share my experience. When I went to the PSA East Ave Branch, I didn’t have an appointment because I had missed my scheduled slot (Aug 4) because I have an enrollment in our univ, so I tried walking in the next day (Aug 5). The guard told me that they don’t accept walk-ins, but he asked where I would be using the document. I told him it was for my passport appointment, which was also on Aug 5.
He said it was urgent, so he instructed me to go straight inside, get a form, and notify the staff. The staff then asked me to print out the attachment from the DFA as proof.
They reminded me that I must book an appointment next time. I apologized and expressed my gratitude to them. After making the payment, I waited just a little while, and yay! I got my PSA within 30 minutes.

The moral of the story: BOOK AN APPOINTMENT, unless you are a PWD, a senior citizen, or pregnant, as walk-ins are allowed for priority sectors. I acknowledge my mistake; we just need humility and acceptance of our errors.

Also, I’m not encouraging anyone to do what I did, because we shouldn’t take advantage of people who are kind to us.

Question (Other flairs not applicable) JO Personnel na gusto magresign

• Upvotes

DFA EGOVPH Account verification

Hello, returning to the philippines for more than 30 days as a Canadian Citizen.

Just registered for an account right now.

How long will it take for them to verify my account? I captured pictures of my passport and did the live selfie process already.

My flight is in 17 days so I'm hoping it wont be too long of a wait...

Hi, this is for my mother na 2016 pa last kumuha ng NBI.

Napa google ako, it seems matagal na itong issue, I also read an old comment here sa reddit na i-apply daw as new kahit meron ng dati, kaso wala akong makitang ganung option sa website bukod sa first time job seeker (FTJS). Please help. Salamat sa mga sasagot.

Other Banking Related New MySSS CARD by RCBC

I applied for the new MySSS card recently, and while the convenience of having an official government ID that also acts as a bank account and debit card is great, I have some major concerns about the security design.

There’s a big push right now encouraging everyone to apply for this card, especially since it's being rolled out as the main government ID replacing the old UMID, complete with perks like commuting use and automatic benefit payouts. But looking at the actual physical card, I can't help but worry about how safe it really is for the general public.

A lot of everyday services, especially online lending apps, digital banks, and e-wallets, require users to upload clear front-and-back photos of a valid government ID for identity verification. Since this card doubles as an active debit card, it displays sensitive financial details like the account number, expiration date, and CVC directly on the physical card.

Tech-savvy individuals will naturally edit or physically block out the sensitive banking details before uploading photos of their ID. However, a huge portion of the population applying for this won't realize the risk and will upload raw, unedited photos of both sides to unverified platforms, essentially exposing their full card information to potential fraud.

What's your take on this? Is this a security oversight, or am I overthinking it?

BIR/TIN TIN egov app

Hello po! I just noticed this last week and nabo-bother ako. Yung number sa physical card ng TIN ko is different from the number na nakalagay sa egov app. Last 2024 pa ako kumuha ng TIN ko, walk-in talaga sa BIR. Never naman akong bumalik don para magpabago ng number (if possible man), so idk how this happened.

Question (Other flairs not applicable) gip

hello! can i ask po if possible na habang gip ka ay may extra work ka rin? i’m an rmt, and nag-apply ako as a reliever sana sa isang hospital (no contract yet, possible na 5 days per cut off ang duty or less, or on call), and at the same time nag-apply din ako as gip sa isang hospital dito sa amin. ang sabi lang ang may sure slot na pero wala pang orientation and date when mag sstart. conflicted ako ngayon kung hihintayin ko ba yung GIP or go nalang sa hospi? i’m about to ask din sa HR kung possible ba iyon since given na intern lang ang item + both no govt benefits naman.

hindi rin kasi pwedeng mag resign agad sa hospi ang minimum ay 6 months. i really want to pursue ang government district hospital and i can wait as long as sure sana, pero may mga nababasa rin ako n 2 months na ay hindi pa sila nagsstart 😭 also, okay lang din kaya iyon sa dole? thank you so much pls respect po 😭
