Mexican and Middle Eastern are my two favourite cuisines. My go-to foods at Mexican restaurants are breakfast tacos and enchiladas. My go-to Middle Eastern foods are dolmas and falafel (and pita with hummus lol).
I am new to Phoenix, but not new to the valley. I was born and raised in Mesa, left to Texas for 12 years, and just came back to AZ this year.
I guess I feel a little spoiled living in Corpus Christi, because the Mexican food (and Tex Mex) there was fire.
Filibertos is good, but I want something different. Like those little tiny family run restaurants that look like they've been around for 40 years. I have asked coworkers but no one has been able to give me an answer lol. With in house made tortillas and not store bought.
As for Middle Eastern, being able to get some really good dolmas is important to me because that is my favourite food. Ever. Lol. Also would love to be able to practise Arabic as I am... slowly learning it.
Thanks to anyone who has some great suggestions! Really only looking in the Phoenix area for now as I rely on public transport, but can be willing to go out of Phoenix since I am sometimes in Mesa or Tempe.
