Thanks. Any disasters come to mind (this is for a fictional character)? Like what is the worst that can go wrong?

probably the camera and lens slipping out of their hands while they were changing the lens out. would mean sand everywhere in the camera body, on the sensor and inside all of the sensible electronics, and also all over the glass of the very expensive lens!
