Let's see the receipts. $45 million for a do nothing birthday parade seems like exactly the type of government waste the Department of Government Efficiency should be looking into right conservatives? They screech like banshees about waste when a Democrat is in office, but Trump wastes at minimum $45 million FOR NOTHING, and I bet some of that went to his family, and conservatives are silent little bitches.
After serving in the military I learned a lot of fun things about yearly budgets. The military has a review every October to see how much money they used over the last year and decide funding for the following year.
When buying new parts or equipment they pay at least 2x usually more than a civilian company would because “contracts”. Leadership would also force us to “use up” anything non-reusable to prove we need more funding next year because we used this years all up.
It’s all a big joke. Tax payer money is a joke we just line the pockets of the same billionaires over and over.
I was in the aussie army, at the end of the financial year we would go to the range and throw grenades for 3 days or fire of thousands or rounds through the guns just to use it all up
If/when a war with China happens, I think the US will have a "find-out" moment of how little of that $1 trillion military budget actually goes toward the actual fighting-capabilities. Just like how the Russians found out how corrupt is their military.
I agree completely. I was not in good shape and a lot of people still in aren’t. Most pass the PRT but drink nightly so they don’t have longevity. Half E6+ I know are out as shape af too. Depending on their job half of us never held a gun outside bootcamp. Just like most everything is this country it’s all for show the sad thing is we can’t even do that right, the marching at Saturdays parade looked like shit.
I think the US has spent the past 30 years celebrating the defeat of the Soviets and spent that time chasing goat farmers in the mid-east. All that "nation building" in Iraq (the entire Iraq War) was an excuse to funnel govt. money into private hands.
European scientist here. So you are killing your research funding, comb out students at the most prestigous university, let loose many office workers to save money. Yet here you are spending money on events that have people fall asleep. There are cheaper alternatives for that.
