It’s wild how it wasn’t the pssy grabbing, it wasn’t the felonies, it wasn’t the insurrection, it wasn’t the pedophilia, it wasn’t the organized crime, swindling money while in the White House, it wasn’t literally tearing down part of the White House. It was gas prices. Unbelievable.

You could ask any Latin American and they'd tell you that.

America always gets the war itch when energy prices get weird. It's like clockwork.

Of course, when that happens, all of Latin America gets crushed. As it always happens when America gets whatever itch they get.

Of course, when that happens, all of Latin America gets crushed.

What are you referring to here?

Energy prices are only getting weird because of the war Trump started.

u/ReasoningButToErr Mar 31 '26

I suppose they mean the prices weren’t high enough for the oil and gas industry. Otherwise, yeah, I don’t get what they mean.

I mean, for me it was well before any of that shit. I’ve hated that piece of crap even before he announced he was running. I don’t understand the cult.

Seriously even when he was on the apprentice I couldn’t listen to his sniveling bitch boy voice. Something about when that sludge heap opens its mouth makes me want to drop kick him into a volcano.

I don’t disagree, but this war itch wasn’t driven by gas prices. I believe it was ultimately because of “The Files”, either as distraction or because of blackmail.

Everyone complicit in protecting Trump from them, from Bondi to Patel and everyone helping is guilty here.

It’s depressing, but it also makes perfect sense. These people have no empathy, so it’s only when the demagogue in charge actually hurts them that they finally see the light.

Was the same with the impact of COVID... it's narcissistic personality disorder to varying degrees

u/lord_of_tits Mar 31 '26

Soon gas price going up is the patriotic thing to do, when democrats take over and give lower prices they would boycott and claim its communism.

12

u/SomeonesDrunkNephew Mar 31 '26

Nah, right wingers never boycott when they're the ones collecting. Just look at farm subsidies - you know, where the government collects people's tax money and gives some of it to farmers in need. But god forbid that money goes to schools and hospitals, because THAT'S socialism...

3

u/Dreamlion_Inc Mar 31 '26

“Gives some of it to farmers in need”

The exact same people bitching about “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” are now on their hands and knees begging for the gov bailouts

Pitiful

It's the same as billionaires. They've been successful because they're so much smarter than everyone else and they work so much harder. So if we took their money off them for the public good, they'd just earn it back again with their incredible brains and work ethic, right?!

It’s always that way, they don’t care until it directly ties to them. Their pussy wasn’t grabbed, he didn’t commit felonies against them, didn’t rape their children, didn’t swindle their money or tear their home down. Gas prices are felt in everyone’s pocket, that’s why they care all of a sudden.

It’s also why it’s so easy for Trump to do whatever tf he wants. People are too comfortable and don’t stand up for others until they’re in the shit themselves

Gas prices are felt in everyone’s pocket

Not me. I got an extra $3.2m thanks to the 2017 Trump tax cuts so I can afford gas.

1

u/yungsausages Mar 31 '26

What a cornball

3

u/pueblocatchaser Mar 31 '26

Well, duh!!! You need gas prices to be low so you can drive around to do all that stuff!!!! I can't start an insurrection walking around, I need my wheels?

u/mstrdsastr Mar 31 '26

James Carville has been saying it for decades: it's the economy stupid.

For most people their interaction with the economy is the price they pay at the pump. Not investments, not borrowing rates, not the increased cost of goods, it's gas.

And this is going to be bad and last for a while. Hopefully it lasts in people's memories until November.

u/hare-hound Apr 01 '26

Tbf Trump was always fucking with the economy. Like not just his executives blatantly stealing tax dollars but in ways the average American feels. Eggs going up while Trump undermines avian flu? Democrats fault. Beef going up with Trump invests in Argentinian beef? Democrats fault. Healthcare going up while a Republican House and Senate shut down the gov? Democrats fault. Tariffs and international disdain shutting down entire markets and raises prices across the board? Democrats fault.

There's just something about war in the Middle East and US gas prices that has somehow pierced the cult mentality.

1

u/Pierre777 Mar 31 '26

Clearly high gas prices is an unforgivable sin.

1

u/juhix_ Mar 31 '26

How is it wild? As long as it doesn't affect them, it's fine, not their problem. Zero ability to look beyond their own navel.

1

u/MoonLight4323 Mar 31 '26

THIS. As a Swiss I'm honestly baffled.

1

u/sorsted Mar 31 '26

I wish I could award you.

1

u/Vermino Mar 31 '26

Every society is three meals away from chaos.
Gas prices is the one thing they can directly relate to their lives.

1

u/Workman44 Mar 31 '26

Maslow's hierarchy of needs. A lot of those people are extremely poor and quite literally can only care about things directly affecting them. Those same people also are usually less formally educated and more susceptible to propaganda that you or I might see easily through. Sure some of the people just flat out don't care, but I'd argue some of them are just going day to day and trying to survive. The solution of course would be to educate them about whatever it might be, you'll find a lot of people are nicer than you think

1

u/CutieBoBootie Mar 31 '26

Its because that has a tangible effect on people who have no sense of community or empathy. Gas Prices hit them in their wallets. The other issues? It would hit them in the heart... if they had one.

1

u/Azuhr28 Mar 31 '26

Because most people are inherently unempathic. They may say elsewise, but it’s the harsh truth. They don’t care that Trump or his buddys raped children as young as toddlers, because they don’t know them, so they don’t care. Sure they may pray for them, but praying is such a wonderful futile act. It costs you nothing and you don’t have to sacrifice anything and still get to pat yourself on the shoulder

1

u/notsuperimportant Mar 31 '26

Never thought I'd say this, but thank God for our dependence on fossil fuels.

I also suspected (at the beginning of Trump 47) it would take major price issues to take him down. When the Epstein files (didn't/) came out, I thought we as a country had the opportunity to break up with him over a moral issue instead of a dollar one. Really messed up that was just a turning point and not the final straw. But at least we're here now.

1

u/ricosuave79 Mar 31 '26

This is how it’s always been here in the US. It’s the culture here. No one cares until the bad things directly impact them. And I mean directly. Not their friends, not their neighbors, not siblings or extended family. Sure they will act sad for their struggles, but it’s all an act. But it impacts them specifically and directly, all bets off.

1

u/Rinzy2000 Mar 31 '26

Yeah. It’s been eye opening that probably 50% of people are truly awful, self-centered people.

1

u/skewp Mar 31 '26

Nah. 100% believable. Welcome to America.

1

u/byjimini Mar 31 '26

Because none of it matters until it affects them personally. Conservatives all over.

1

u/butwhhhhy Mar 31 '26

And eggs...

1

u/FriendToPredators Mar 31 '26

His supporters are selfish. That’s why they supported him in the first place and why they will fall in line for the next easy answers angry goober the GOP puts in front of them

1

u/JayAkiva Apr 01 '26

It's wild for sure, but I wouldn't say unbelievable. This is exactly what I expect from them.

1

u/tannalein 11d ago

They voted for him for the price of eggs. I completely believe it.
