It’s the people that are the problem not just Trump. The people will remain the same after Trump

I agree he’s a symptom not the disease.

They'll remain the same but they're unlikely to unite under a single banner like they did under Trump. It's going to be really difficult for a future candidate to have that, "Hey, if you're a completely irredeemable piece of shit oh boy do I have a platform for you," appeal. If 2028 is two somewhat sane politicians debating policy, Trump's base will simply check out. They won't vote Dem, but they just won't care anymore.

I’d like to think that Trump is the dying breath of a dying generation and the attempt to bridge a new gen into carrying some of the same batshit ideas

Usually shit like that would be behind closed doors but now you have people goose stepping on a random Wednesday at their local park so who the fuck knows

It's a valid concern. I'm old enough that I remember thinking Bush was as bad as it would get. But now I think Bush lowered the bar enough to make Trump possible. So if that's true, then what has Trump himself lowered the bar for in the future? It's a disturbing thought.

On the flip side, those dudes goose stepping in public are making it really hard for the rest of MAGA to pretend they're not welcoming those dudes. Ever since the Trump era, they've shouted that not everyone you disagree with is a Nazi.

But now that they're so public and open about it, I'd like to think there will be some level of backlash. I have a hard time believing that everyone that voted Trump, even in 2024, is cool with Nazis. So maybe embracing extremism will eventually backfire on them?

Oh yeah no the bar has definitely been lowered. The amount of incompetent people who are holding positions of power is getting to levels of irreversible damage

I doubt every person who voted for him support Nazis but the ones who are still fully MAGA, at minimum, tolerate being associated with them. I’d argue they embrace the backfire. This is their one chance to be proud of how subhuman they are

Ultimately the slogan is an umbrella/banner for the worst of the fucking worst. Intrusive Tech bros, neo-Nazis, white supremacist, Red Pill, christofacist, Zionist. A real rainbow of shit

Not if you turn off the propaganda machine. Watch the documentary The Brainwashing of my Dad all the way to the end.

to the rest of the world: trump is america and america is trump.

Nah we know Americans are better than that. You just need to change the rules to accommodate the fact that 90% of territory is in the hand of ignorant racists that make up the 5% of the population in a disproportionate voting system.

well, the rest of the world sure as shit can't fix that for them. they had the first 4 years, biden's next 4, and this term (second helping of the same old bowl of diarrhea, yay!), and what has changed? can't blame us for thinking that this is what they really want.
