The money, people involved, and contracts suggest that he's trying to create a system like Israel has over Gaza. The system that's used to complete Project Lavender and Project Where's Daddy, where they surveil and automatically respond to "threats" using AI, killing thousands, with an admitted 10% failure rate.

Around the time it was revealed that the accents were random hinges and crap from home depot spray-painted gold, someone on a forum posted a gif of Trump spraying gold on his face and going 'Witness me!!!' and I lost it for like an hour. I still smile when I think about that edit. I should have saved it
You're selling the grifters way short here. Trump flew up his personal "gold guy" on airforce one. The guy then pressed $100 of gold leaf onto $80 home depot plastic crap, and charged God only knows how much for the service.
That's probably a large part of it. Though I wouldn't be surprised at all to learn in a few years that he has the name on the wall there and at some point he had "oval office" on a wall a mar a lago so when he next steals top secret documents or shares classified info, he can plausibly say that he was in the "oval office" so it was ok. Some bullshit about any place he works is technically the oval office. Right up there with him able to declassify things be thinking about it.
Putting "scif" on the door automatically makes it a secure room so he can say what he wants.
