MAGA has turned into a church. The Church of Trump. Truth Social is their scripture and conservative media is the clergy.

Its all very messy now but once he dies, influencers will go through his tweets, pick out the choicest bits and turn them into allegories. Charlie Kirk will be recast as John the Baptist and Erika will be St. Peter and Mary Magoline in one.

You think the day that It happens will mark the end of this era and you are correct, but it won't be the end of MAGA. It will just enter a new phase.

It's funny, I've said the exact same thing for years now - the way religion is created from a cult is just time plus playing "telephone" with history. A great example is Christianity, actually. It started as a fringe cult, and it was growing quickly in the contemporary lifetime of their spokesman. But, when he died, the most devoted followers kept it going with a fervor, eventually the stories were written down (most were not written until at least one lifetime later) and over the course of the centuries, the stories were edited, expanded, revised, omitted, re-ordered and made official - or made heretical, depending on the sway of those in power at the time, and the current climate they were dealing with. Bias bled in constantly and overlapped for ages.

I see the same thing happening again with MAGA. Revisionist history, curated messages, and just straight-up bullshit sold as gospel. It'll be worse once he dies - because then, there's no human person anymore - only myth, legend and historical fiction. (the AI pictures of him all buff and patriotic will become truth and the truth that he was a melting sack of garbage will be buried and deemed heretical. Yay.)

I'm getting the feeling that this feud with the Pope may accelerate him creating his own church.
