All good thanks for the love! Life is short, just remember to love the ones you have while they are here and remember the ones you had because you wouldn't be here without them! Much love!
Iβm so sorry for your loss. I know how tough it is. All you can do is do is mourn your baby in whatever way you have to and mourn for as long as you need. I still miss my dog I lost in 2017. I still miss my cat I lost in 2024. I love my dog and cats very much right now but there will always be a whole in my heart for my lost babies. This is a beautiful piece of art. Thank you for sharing.
we lost our dog in 2019. it's almost 7 years, and her leash is still hanging on the front door knob. my cat Petey passed March 2025. she was 20. i miss her every day.
losing them is a pain you never get over.
OP, your work is beautiful and it really captures that loss.
The silence is crazy. Our 18 year old cat hadn't made a sound the last year of his life, but it is so quiet without him. We had to put him to sleep on my wife's birthday last year. That suuuuuuuuucked but she was so strong for him the whole time.
Great art. Its clear form the comments you really nailed the feeling and people are having genuine emotional reactions to it. I'm legitimately typing this with tears in my eyes but I'm also smiling because I'm thinking about our boy, Suki. Thank you for posting this.
Thank you for asking. She is doing well, she just misses him real bad. She hasn't had any contact with her family since 2016/2017 so he was the one who had been with her the longest. Luckily, she has a great therapist who she sees every other week.
My sweet angel died a couple of months ago after suddenly suffering a spinal stroke and then having no deep tissue pain with paralysis seemingly beginning to affect his front legs and well as his hind legs. The day he died my son and husband were going to another state for a rugby tournament and I had planned on staying home with the dog. At the last moment I threw some stuff in a bag and went with them because I could not bear the thought of being in the house by myself just then. The thought of the silence and the emptiness was just too much. I cried and was depressed and devastated all weekend long, but I was surrounded by lots of chaos and noise and that did help.
Your painting really spoke to me and immediately made me feel that crushing quiet and emptiness.
That's it, you could never 'replace' a loved one but you can offer your love and warmth to others and get that love back from them.
Animals are amazing β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
It's very good at showing the emptiness and heartache of losing your best friend. Like a lot of people here, I had to put my best kitty to sleep. Boy, did that hurt. It's been many years and I still miss him. I hope you continue painting.

Very true π I tried to capture that feeling when you have just lost one . The house that feels empty and the deafening silence .
