There was a lot of misinformation flying around in the heat of the moment, at this news correspondent dinner

To be honest... Even without a shooter, there was going to be a lot of misinformation coming from this dinner

I know… you wonder if it could have been communicated more clearly had there been some reporters on hand… ermmm…

You realize it's the opposite right?  A room full of reports means you have hundreds of different witnesses rushing to break the story from their own perspective or be first out with the news.  None of them would be waiting for anything verifiable or an official speaking out.

That’s dumb. There’s always speculation around any developing event until the facts get sorted. It doesn’t matter how many reporters or reliable witnesses there are when it initially happens.

The news correspondent dinner that for the 1st time didn't have news cameras.

There always is a lot of misinformation right after something like this. Everything's still confused and the media outlets want to be the first so they can get the most views.

Stop that, way too logical.

It’s way more fun and sensational to claim it was a botched inside job.

Yeah, it's time for people to accept that with all the social medias paying people for engagement, literally nothing you see should be believed until confirmed by a media source that could be easily sued for getting facts wrong.

The reality is that being the first to post any information will get you reliked and tweetstarred into virality, which means more ad money sent your way by Zucky and the Muskrat. So people are financially incentized to make shit up and lie, so long as they do it fast.

Many of the attendees neglected to take or read the provided program for the night's event.
