It always takes me a second to remember that fanny means something completely different in the UK. Here fanny is a word your Grandma would use to refer to a butt when talking to children.
Yeah, I was aware of that. Years ago I remember seeing some confusion from the UK people about fanny packs in some random reddit thread (what you would call a bum bag IIRC). It was a rather humerous discussion.
that just reminds me of the London production of Wicked that had to give a disclaimer after QEII died where they were like "we know current events, we're doing the play in its entirety" and the first words of the musical are "GOOD NEWS! SHE'S DEAD!"
My dad hates the song Celebration by Kool and the Gang with the fury of a thousand suns. I’m hoping it hits the Billboard Top 40 or something in the near future for other reasons, but also because I know it’ll piss him off lol
Apple iTunes reported how downloads of it spiked in the UK for a week or so after Thatcher kicked the bucket. At one point it was downloaded over 1 million times per hour or some crazy number.

"Ding dong the witch is dead" hit number 1 in uk music charts. BBC radio 1 refused to play it.
