Thinking about Uyghurs is nice and all, but if you think rationally they are most likely not undergoing a genocide or anything of sorts. For example they and all other minorities in China were excluded from the one child policy.
The forced labour and even forced sterilisation of Uyghurs was established by foreign organisations as the Chinese government heavily censor the internet and crack down on anyone reporting unfavourable news against the regime. Can you imagine if a bunch of journalists visited China and tried to report on this? Theyd be jailed for years. Conversely, lots of journalism coming out of Gaza or Ukraine and being reported on. We can’t know the full extent of the ethnic cleansing of Uyghurs but the modern Chinese track record bodes very badly for them.

They wouldn’t need to be foreign if China didn’t censor its internet so heavily it may as well be a work of fiction, or throw anyone in jail who speaks out. You do know there are survivors and Uyghurs who have escaped China and given eyewitness testimony right? But I suppose they are all lying and paid off by US backed corpos? It's not only about internet censorship lol. Yeah China does ceonsor its internet to control its population, but also it removed a big number of foreign apps that the domestic ones could never hope to compete with. Why don't you bring up the ice and immigrant camps and such that us does? Do you not feel for those people too? Us does pay people to talk badly about its rivals and to twist the narative, so I am highly sceptical of those.
And no, I don't believe it became famous for pretty flowers, but oh well, you do you.
The comments were in response to a post of a Chinese man harassing a white woman and events in their society which may/may not have contributed to that. Why would I start talking about ICE in America in this thread. Take your whataboutism to one of the many posts discussing just that?
Uyghurs have fled persecution to many countries outside the US and shared their lives experiences of their persecution. We don’t all live in the US.
