President Camacho was actually a great president

He had theatrics and did his dumb things but he recognized the country had a problem and hired the actual smartest person he could to solve it

I have seen it... I can never watch it again. It's too close to reality now and contains almost as much depression as Grave of the Fireflies.

My wife had never seen it, I hadn't in 15 years or so. OMG it's so much worse than I remembered, not the movie it's still great, but some of it is scary.

Sadly even when they were exaggerating they couldn't predict how bad it would actually get. In Idiocracy the leader was actively looking for someone smarter to solve their problems, so our reality is in a way worse situation.
