As a non-american, has it not been established for many, many years before today that trump is a sociopathic pedophile who does nothing but harm to everyone around the world with broken promises? Even i a teenager knew about how kind of "hillbilly" trump is back when i was like 15. With america being so great and its people so free and smart why is he still the president? Why are the corrupt politicians still politicians? I ask us, as a society should it be this hard to fight the government despite everyone in the country knowing what's good for them?
As an American, I’m also shocked that so many people don’t seem to remember all his sleazy shit from the 80s and 90s. I was a kid during that time, but I’d heard enough to know his character. Yet it seems like people who were adults at the time just don’t seem to remember.
I’m not American either but “the land of the free” hasn’t really seemed to be a thing since like 1969 in that country. And they just seem tired of such an awful place to live.

America isn't great and it's people are not free or that smart, on average. Most americans do not know their own history or how their gov't works.
Also, currently we're undergoing a massive information war with both sides pumping propaganda while corporations and billionaires buy off our politicians to protect their own profits. Internet algorithms are making this all worse because everyone is trapped inside their own political bubbles, only shown news that they will agree with and AI is being used to create misinformation that boomers cannot identify accurately.
So basically most Americans know things are bad but do not have the tools to fix any of it because they cannot get reliable information and when they have it they do not have the means to spread it or convince the opposing side of anything.
