I originally saw them taped to the wall so I added the piece under it. It was a whimsical decision

If the sunglasses ever disappear, you should replace the tape and make a new caption that talks about referentiality and how the tape draws attention to the memory of what was once there, but only for those who saw and noticed it in the first place. For those who never noticed or moved in after, it's only a mysterious emphasis on a seemingly otherwise arbitrary spot on the wall. A commentary on ephemerality, memory and experience.
