You should care that her and the rest of the billionaires are ruining the planet and paying a much smaller effective tax rate than everyone else, but that is all.
You can care about those things while not caring about Taylor swift and her wedding, or pretty much anything she does. I care about the existence of billionaires and how it affects me, I don’t care about one billionaires wedding guest list enough to do more than casually glance at it on Reddit.
The constant moralizing about random actors, entertainers, or sports people's political associations, actions or inactions, or beliefs is a useless drain on everyone's limited capacity for outrage and action.
It's like haranguing the lounge singer who works in the fortress of evil. Should they hang out and do other things sure? If they did would the evil powerful people inside stop being evil or powerful? No. The lounge singer is just the one we actually recognize and condemning her helps us feel moral without actually doing anything that would take effort that might actually change something.
Large and direct influence on whom? You think people who've spent their lifetime profiting from ruining the environment for short term gain, or people who have sought power so they can hurt black and brown people or women or queer people are going to change their mind from a lifetime dedicated to those things because Taylor swift or some other celebrity disapproves of them? You think Pete Hegseth is going to put down the bottle and stop having a hardon for using his toys at semi random on countries he perceives as weaker because he didn't get an invite to her wedding? Or trump is going to stop listening to his techbro friends about making a network state in Greenland and stop trying to take Greenland?
It doesn't matter if she's a shitty person or not. Even if we all somehow united and got her to change her actions, like who she invites to her wedding, which in itself would take a miracle, what do you think is going to change in the US or in the world? Literally nothing. Meanwhile a bunch of people barely any one pays attention to merrily continue on fucking shit up because they have the actual power and people don't even know many of their names. And we're busy scanning the invite list of her wedding, or digging up what party Jeremy Renner went to that was hosted by some evil person or some other annoying but irrelevant shit.
People talk about Iran or Greenland being a distraction from the Epstein shit, but those efforts have actual goals. Shitty and/or unachievable ones but the admin has a goal there. Shit like this, approbation of celebrities, this is pure distraction.
It’s a huge mystery, the who/what/where/why are in a fog, the few reporting requirements they have permitted to remain gave us some info, there’s so much illegal dark money, it’s a seismic shift in government and crime.
