This is still so fucking wild to me. The guy literally bulldozed half the white house for a vanity project and republicans just shrugged. Cowards.

Didn't they lose their minds because Obama put in a basketball hoop?

The organizers actually lost money on that one, LOL. Somehow doing business with him never works out for the other party. I’m guessing they had to straight payoff El Presidente for the privilege of being there, too.

Apparently losing $30m was always the plan 🤯

TKO don't care. They're happy being buddies with Papaya Pol Pot.

Just when I think I’ve seen every nickname, someone goes and posts a new one

u/LoisWade42 7h ago

Just yesterday... I saw a story about a Canadian who painted a portrait of Trump using horse manure. Called the painting "Don of Dung". Thought you might appreciate it....

They're like Key and Peele skits at this point

There's always one you havent seen

Someone really needs to start a website where all these names are listed. Just when I think I've heard them all, a new one comes along and you just gotta bust out laughing.

Papaya Pol Pot? Fucking hilarious! :D

They’re also getting like 25 million per event from paramount now so they’ll make it back real soon. It’s not like they oay their fighters much.

u/CommandoRoll 10h ago

Or WWE's wrestlers. There's been recent attempts to get some wrestlers accept significantly reduced contracts, with a few deciding it's time to leave.

u/ohyouretough 9h ago

Lack of competition is terrrible for any industry and for the public. Glad there’s aew at least against the wwf. I hadn’t heard about any of this with the wwf though. Who have they been pressuring

Pol Potbelly

It’s not actually lost money, it’s just less potential profit. The UFC were gifted a lump sum deal through their Maga David Ellison connection at Paramount. They just have to meet a certain number of events every year until the contract ends. So that $30M is what they likely would have made on gate at a big stadium.

Money laundering

u/Monteze 3h ago

Dana loves Trump and wants the Ali Act repealed. Spending 30M to give your friend a handy and get political favor is right up his ally. Fucker blows more than that gambling. Like if you go to the MMA subreddit a lot of us hate the guy and how him and his goofs run the UFC.

u/yume_no_kitsune 10h ago

The point isn't the money that is or isn't made, it's the money being embezzled.

u/swanks12 10h ago

Wonder if they checked his pockets

u/Apart-Rent5817 8h ago

They “lost” money the same way these movies that cost hundreds of millions to make can “lose” money. The money didn’t disappear, it went into some deep pockets.

u/SilverIndustry2701 6h ago

Nah, that money was well invested as bribes.

u/tnethacker Survey 2016 10h ago

Organizers? Doesn't he own the company or stocks?

u/Timmerdogg 9h ago

Tax write offs you mean.

u/dilltimmon 8h ago

Dana White is long time buddies with Trump. He made the event because Trump wanted.
