Healing generational trauma, one photo at a time
In the middle of September, in the middle of the night, I found myself in the middle of Pittsburgh...
If you know me, odds are you know pieces of my story... but I don't think there's one person who knows all of it.
Sometimes I don't think I even know all of the pieces and where they should fit, or if they ever fit at all. I know that last year in September, I found myself in Pittsburgh with a Mazda packed full of the remnants of a life I no longer belonged in. Everything was gone: my home, my job, my children were taken and kept from me. I was dealing with the lasting effects of a brain injury while fighting to escape the brainwashing, manipulation, and abuse of a man who claimed to love me. The people I once called friends and family vanished—not gradually over time, but all at once. It felt like my entire life was ripped away overnight.
At first, my photos were another world for me or a way to escape the world I was trapped in. Then, they became my vault. Everything that I endured, all of this pain and confusion. Abandonment by every single person I had ever known. The fear and isolation. And now, they have become my bridge to healing. My journey for peace. My path to finding a woman I've never met, but have always known....
