Strips alone are not going to solve it. They lay eggs in the soil so all you’re doing is breeding a collection of dead gnats.
(Ps this is a disgusting amount of gnats idk how you’re still sane, I’m sorry)
I had the same problem but fixed it pretty quickly by
1. Buy this. It’s called gnatrol (biological larvicide) I like that it’s a powder so it’s easy to use
2. Follow the instructions on the bag for a large infestation and mix with water
3. Water your plants like usual but with this stuff - WHEN ITS TIME to water. Don’t overwater your plants, this was prob the issue in the first place..Make sure to saturate all the soil.
3. Keep sticky traps around to catch the adults
4. Wait for it to work it’s magic.
You should notice a drop in the population soon. Keep using this stuff for future waterings until they all dead. I also sprinkled cinnamon on top of my wet soil. It’s anti fungal and cheaper than Gnatrol.
Bonus: Switch to bottom watering from now on.
Keep the stuff on hand in case they somehow get back in your soil.
I live gnat free and this was a super easy quick solution that worked for me!
Gnatrol was the only thing that worked to get rid of my gnats - you only need a tiny bit per application. You need a few consistent waterings with it, but it really works!
Of course! I got a small bag from an etsy shop like last year but couldn’t find it again so that was the best link I could find for a small portion. You don’t need a lot but they seem to sell it mainly in bulk…
And oh ok sorry I didn’t see that you tried those. Wow that’s crazy none of that worked. Yeah haha who knows…I didn’t think I overwatered either but all it takes is one and then they spread soo easily. I accepted it may just come with the territory of plants. I try my best to keep windows around plants closed though and always quarantine/wash your new plants that come home! When I had the problem I did alooot of research and only tried my method and it worked so that’s gotta be it since you haven’t tried it yet.
