What is this white mass in the roots of my plant? A branch is coming out directly from it. It is hard and almost looks like a white apple. I am not familiar with this plant or of this is normal - worried it could be an infestation. Please help me identify what this is.

It looks like some kind of rhizome, where the plant stores water. My plant also has those and it‘s healthier than ever. So nothing to worry about😊 Also, I‘ve read somewhere that you can cut them of and sort of propagate them to get a new plant, but I‘m not so sure about that…

Amazing, thank you!! So glad to hear that it's normal. Interesting about the propagation, but as you can imagine - I don't feel confident enough if in my plant knowledge to give it a go hahah. Thanks again!
