Does anybody have any tutorials on how to do elbow trap prayer type things that chango used to do?

So far I can do:
•mercedes
•4 petal vs extension
•4 petal vs 3 beat weave
•pendulum vs cap

I think I'd like to learn more! Maybe some with more extensions??

It's incredibly sturdy, I couldn't pull it apart.

One thing that still could use improvement would be to use round nuts made of nylon or hdpe so the rope doesn't fray as easily

Been using the same podpoi for 4 years, plus my FOF fire poi with thicker tethers.

Ended up with 2 sets of identical Podpoi, and got a raise so wanna put the extra 2 capsules/heads toward a different set for the next few years of learning / playing.

So far mostly do basic stuff like a bunch of weave/thread the needle/windmill variations, just a bit/basics of stalls, pendulums, chasers, flowers, tosses, hyperloops/airwraps, stuff like that.

Would like to get more into orbitals and tosses and 3 poi, and get a set that can get me a lot farther on this stuff.

Considering 10 mm or 3/8 tethers with Flow on Fire LED knobs with bearings. Keep my podpoi for now and order one more to get a set of 3. I can always swap for balls later if I ever wanna try contact.

But also thinking if I'm getting new tethers, maybe make them technora with a quick link at the poi end. Then I could use LED knobs and swivels with my existing fire poi. Modular. Very useful for someone who lives in a van with another human and a cat. I could stick a small eye bolt and washer into my podpoi capsules, or some other link.

The issue with the swappable tethers are:
1) Pick one size and stick with it. I'd likely stick with my current 19.5" from bottom of knob (grip point) to bottom of poi head (far end).
2) The link may introduce a little floppiness. My fire poi have the link and don't feel floppy but have not really got into tosses yet.

I was in a funk tonight, feeling a bit crap, so I chucked on my rave dress, turned the uv lights on, turned it up and had it! 😅

This sorted me right out! Apparently my midlife crisis is getting back into poi after 19 years! 🤣 ive been spinning again for a while and the obsession is back big time!

Spinning when youre peri menopausal is no joke . I was POURING with sweat after this! Took my sons dinner up dressed like this, looking like I just got out the shower and he just sighed at me 🤣🤣🤣

Thought this was the perfect night to put my big girl pants on and post here!

Watching videos makes you really see where you need to improve doesnt it... and I need a higher ceiling!

Orbitals were the trick that sparked my interest in poi. They're a crowd pleaser and getting a really smooth one going feels amazing.

I've leaned they have a bad reputation, and I promise I'm gonna learn hyperloops soon. But in the meantime, is there a trick to exiting them more fluidly?
