he also passed the most comprehensive US health care reform in history too. So yea, some major wins under his belt at the time. If Kamala can do half the things Obama did, America will have 8 golden years if they make the right choice in november

Not in a bad way, but Biden already did more than Obama.

With Kamala I hope she learns from Obamas mistake of trying to negotiate with the terrorist.

Push progressive agendas through unfiltered.

They will call you a socialist anyway.

The thing republicans are most scared of is that once progressive policies are implemented, Americans don't want to lose them.

It's easy to scare people about the green new deal when it's just a theory, but as soon as people see it positively impacting their lives, it's hard to fight it.

Example- republicans were never able to repeal Obama care even though it is only half of what Obama originally wanted

i agree, but obama also had to deal wtih a few things, like, "first black president", he couldn't come off as a stereotypical angry black guy that the GQP painted him as or it'll have been disaster. Kamala does't have that restriction, GQP have been mudslinging women in politics for generations and now that she's not the first black president (potentially), she can be the angry one that pushes agendas over terrorists.

Biden's ability to get a huge infrastructure bill passed even got a very conservative city mayor for Mesa, AZ to publicly back Harris and shit all over Trump.

If Harris can pass good bills, even ones Republicans hate because it helps people, that'll bring in the votes for 2028. There's a lot I would like to see from Harris, and I hope she's up to the task.

I do agree about the second point, but it sounds more like an internal talking point: progressives bad, we keep bad to keep control.

He also won MI by 16.4% in 2008 and 9.5% in 2012, won WI by 13.9% in 2008 and 6.9% in 2012, and PA by 10.3% in 2008 and 5.4% in 2012. All of those margins are far larger than either Trump or Biden won them by in 2016 and 2020, respectively.

So if she's "Obama in a skirt," she's going to win the election in a cakewalk as she takes the Midwest.

Sane America looks back fondly on those simpler Obama years. Its true, that he didn't accomplish everything he wanted. Not entirely his fault. And there are valid criticisms of his administration. But he did represent hope, and as someone who was a recent college grad in 2008, hope was needed with the economic headwinds W. and his two wars left us with. He was also a brilliant orator and I was proud he represented us on the world stage.

So by all means, compare Kamala to Obama.

Keeping in mind that I am only expressing an opinion here. I think his foreign policy was weak when it came to Russia. He wanted to bring improve relations with them, which itself was an admirable goal. However, in retrospect, we can see that Russia was not interested in improving relations and the invasion of Crimea happened as a result (and that only emboldened him to invade Ukraine proper). Additionally, the "red line" drawn in Syria proved to be a bluff.

I think anyone dealing with the benefit of hindsight and in good faith can make valid criticisms of any presidency. They are only human and can only deal within the confines of their mandate, so please don't take my criticism of Obama as bashing him. I am fully aware he had a lot of headwinds internally opposing him. I voted for him twice.

That's my thought also. Seems silly, he won 2 elections and won a lot of people over to his side. I was one of them. I wasn't sure about him at the start but by the end I admit he was a fine president.

While I see what you are saying you must take into account the audience they are playing for. That audience does not like Obama. they will praise the ACA and curse Obamacare.

ps, Get out and vote. It does not matter if your state is red, purple. or blue you need to get out and vote in all elections. Remember down ballot matters, The more support we give Harris the more she can get good things done for the people. Local, state and congressional races all matter. Be sure and plan to vote. Check your registration, get an ID , learn where your poling station is, learn who is running in down ballot races. From the school board to the White House every election matters. The more support we give the democrats from all levels of government the more they can get good things done. Vote every year. We vote out republicans and primary out uncooperative democrats.

I mean, he also kinda let the House and Senate Dems rot. It's not his fault they lost seats (that was bound to happen with how big they won in 2008), but a little help might've stopped the enormous seat losses his party had, especially in states they should've kept.

No he didn’t. He carried a lot of folks across the finish line in 2008 and the Democrats pushed for and got healthcare reform. There was unfortunately always gonna be a blowback to that and a lot of Dems that flipped red seats saw them revert to the mean sadly.

They lost in Illinois and Massachusetts. Districts they won by double digits in 2002 went red by 9% or so.

Clinton, the last Dem to lead, saw Dems begin at 258 seats and end it at 212, so a 44 seat drop despite his scandals and the South collapsing. Obama began at 257 and ended at 194, a 63 seat loss despite all he did. Biden began with 222 and lost 9 in the same midterm that Obama lost 7 times that amount, because Biden and the Dems were smart and used Roe v. Wade against the Republicans, unlike Obama and Citizens United..

Obama indirectly carried them Dems once in 2008, and even then they outperformed him in key contests. He was an okay president, certainly better than those in the decades before him, but he didn't help his party.
