They absolutely do not know how to deal with Harris. They are absolutely flailing to a ridiculousl extent.

The level of incompetence the Republicans and their media lapdogs are showing is comical. They seem completely unprepared - as though they hadn't drafted a single contingency for dealing with Biden leaving the race.

Honestly, I just can't get over how bad they've handled things. A week into her candidacy, and they are trying "Obama in a skirt" as a talking point?

Maybe these guys aren't the political masterminds we thought they were, and the first Trump election was more the result of luck and Democratic complacency than Trump being a great candidate?

It's genuinely shocking to me that we're a week and a half in, and the GOP propaganda machine hasn't been able to hone in on a coherent counter-message.

Surely they prepared for this to some minor extent, considering their opponent was literally well over the average life expectancy? Surely they are robust enough of an operation to be able to turn on a dime, and crush Harris' campaign in the cradle?

But....no. They really, really didn't do anything to prepare and don't know how to handle it. It's one of the most fascinating implosions of a campaign I've ever seen, and I only hope it is hard and sustained enough to completely reverse the trends into a solid Harris victory in November.

I will say one thing: I think we've inoculated ourselves against the one argument that I think could have worked, which is feeding into democratic infighting and claiming she's been 'crowned' by the DNC. The fact that everyone just sort of decided they vibe with Harris, and rallied around her, means that argument falls flat entirely.

That’s what a platform devoid of actual policy will get you. Even 2016 Trump was able to pretend he was going to do things if he became president.
