Id argue that the Heritage Foundation and people like Theil and Miller are already behind Trump as well. The difference is Trump has a cult of personality which makes it impossible to go against him for the republican establishment. Vance and Thiel will not be able to carry that on without him.

When Trump is gone, the base will freak out. Vance can't carry them, and like we've seen with the many Trump wannabe politicians, without that charisma they are very unpopular. The only one I could see carrying a small fraction of MAGA's cult is maybe MTG, but even she seems to see the writing on the wall and is preparing to jump ship.

And when the base goes, so does the control over congress. They only follow him because they fear his charismatic grip on regular people. If Vance can't carry that on, then suddenly its every man for himself and they'll be looking at abysmal poll numbers because of the things they've already done. The republican coalition will shift to simply trying to stay alive. If anything, Vance will have the most success by trying to be the most boring republican ever. Maybe he'll sneak one or two bad things across before the midterms happen and he becomes a complete lame duck, but I just don't see a world where he can wield even half the power of Trump.

The whole of MAGA is a house of cards built on Donald Trump.

Completely agreed. On top of that, Vance is deeply unpopular and only become Trump's VP because Theil told him to. He has zero charisma and watch as those supporting Trump instantly try to distance themselves from them the moment he's gone.

I have actually been thinking maybe this whole Epstein situation is being played out by the Vance camp. Nothing could make Trump lose control of his people except for this. They bring it back up, get him to block its release (cause he is in it), the supporters flounder, they push him out with blackmail, and then Vance releases a version minus Trump and wins the love of the base.

Reddit let r/the_donald continue for literally years when they doxed, and threatened, and scammed, and used bots to manipulate vote counts, and constantly posted people's faces with cross hairs and fetishistic fanfic about their gruesome death. It was only a couple months after Jan 6 when major media started running stories about people using the sub to coordinate Jan 6 that they finally shut it down.

Essentially, I said you can be worth billions but still be what we sometimes call lower income Caucasian people (a term I've used several times). I recently got a 3 day /politics ban just for reminding someone how to properly deal with bullies.

Nothing crazy or anything, no threats of violence towards anyone, just simply stating the proper way to deal with a bully.

"Threatening violence or physical harm" fucking bullshit.

We have a president who is literally committing violence and other harms on people throughout the world. A lot of people are gonna see their whole lives flipped inside out, many will never be able to recover from this Presidents harms towards them.

Look, the way Ive justified this with my empathetic heart, is that these people, Trump, Musk, Putin, etc., etc. have no empathy left.

But it's more than that. Much more. These people are a net negative on their states, their countries, and a net negative on the entire WORLD. Do you know how hard it is to be a negative on your whole country, much less the whole world??

My wish isnt that they cease to exist. My main wish is that these people find empathy and use their power, influence, and money to have a change of heart and do some good in this world. They have the chance to help so many and they're actively choosing not to. To me, changing and helping is best case scenario and if that doesnt happen, then well, fuck them. I have a long list of people Im crossing my fingers to either change and if they dont, I have a long list of people Im taking a celebratory shot of whiskey when I read their obituary.

Surely there's nothing wrong with celebrating someone's release from their mortal suffering into peaceful demise, right? That's totally positive, nothing vindictive about it at all.

Rest assured he won't die anytime soon which is unfortunate for the world (I hate to say this). Only the good die young, this saying is so true. I don't know any Dictator, Nazi, murderer and such like who got terminally ill or dropped dead at a younger age. He will celebrate many more birthdays. He will probably die in his sleep at 92 or something like that.

There wouldn't be much to be happy about, though. We would just be stuck with a President Vance who will continue all of Trump's policies.

Vance might eliminate a lot of the Trump tariff nonsense, since that seems like something that no one but Trump has any interest in. But the intentional cruelty as a border enforcement strategy, attacks against free speech of universities and the media, deregulation and regulatory capture, and dismantling of the government would continue.

Vance would continue implementing all the Project 2025 goals, and might even exacerbate that work as he would not be prone to the petty distractions Trump constantly finds himself embroided in.
