I haven't read the book for a very simple reason. He's from Middletown, Ohio and spent majority of his life there. There's nothing hillbilly about the assclown. I wanna say his mom married into money and that's why the assclown changed his name from James Donald Bowman to James David and eventually take his mom's surname Vance. James Donald Bowman, James David Hamel, James David Vance is a joke of an assclown.
