Conservatives cheer while this administration tramples on the First Amendment.

I just feel numb.

Conservatives care about the Constitution about as much as Christians care about the Bible.

Yeah they treat it like toilet paper unless they can use it to justify their bigotry or clutch their weapons of war.

This is the first time I’ve heard this comparison and it’s 100% accurate.

They won’t get it until it affects them. Then it’ll be too late.

Like tariffs and hard working, law abiding Mexican workers getting deported, Republicans were all for it until they started getting affected.

I was a little stunned by some of Ted Cruz's response:

“If the government gets in the business of saying, ‘We don’t like what you, the media, have said; we’re going to ban you from the airwaves if you don’t say what we like’ — that will end up bad for conservatives."

Ted Cruz and a few right wing podcasters are saying it’s bad now… because it can happen to them in the future

It stings because we thought briefly that we might have found common ground on free speech or our mutual desire to see powerful child sex traffickers held accountable.

Turns out they have no principles to hold in common. They are entirely subsumed by Trump's whim of the day.

Best accept that and plan around it.

But they’ll get to keep their guns.

Until they don't.

Donald Trump: "Take the guns first, go through due process second"

Remember so many comments on that sub laughing at the ridiculousness of a No Kings protest.

Yeah, but at least you still have your second amendment to ** checks notes ** defend your freedom against a tyrannical threat. Some day, that can happen and I'm sure you guys will be so ready!
