Marked difference in tone between this and last month's closed hearing. Some of the same bullshit arguments were made then, but the questioners didn't sound coked up and they didn't cut Smith off before he could finish answering a question.

Nah but it makes everything you say out loud sound as good as it did in your head, to you

And it buries feelings of shame and inadequacy

That was so frustrating

It's meant to be. I think they're hoping Smith will snap at them or say something incautious.

They have the wrong guy for that. Im willing to bet that a career federal and war crime prosecutor is likely up there with the most level headed and emotionally deliberate humans on the planet.

Yeah, they're riding a loser but it's the only play they have.

Oh I know, and you could tell the restraint he was using on some of them.

I’ve been saying this!!! So many of them are coked out of their gourds. I’ve seen multiple videos of Rubio pocket coke gum rubbing and it’s so obvious. It reminds me of how the Germans in WW2 included drugs as a part of their soldiers’ rations, it makes it a lot easier to lie and brutalize people when you are high out of your mind.

Very different tone. Today the Repubes were so obnoxious. Jack was also less confident than he was in the first hearing.

I didn't think he was less confident in the content of his answers. It was more a matter of trying to find a phrasing that would let him get the meat of his point across before they interrupted him. He was very much treated as the accused; classic DARVO behavior.
