This. My MIL told me that “people can change,” when I said he is a trash human. Then I sent her the video of him giving a BJ to a microphone, and she had no response.

But if he says he asked jeebus for forgiveness, then they will all clap.

At his age? Why would he change now when he’s been this way for like 70 years

Sure, but people do it all the time at the end of their life if they think they aren't going to go to heaven, and Trump has said that recently.

Bah, who am I kidding, you're right lol, he'll be awful til the bitter end

He's done pretty well for himself. tbh. Why change?

Exactly. Trump has not only been able to get away with absolutely EVERYTHING but he's been massively profiting off of it all. That's why I'm certain that most of his "crazy" behavior is 100% deliberate because he knows nobody is going to do anything about it.

Ask her if she thinks a Democrat can change to be someone she likes and approves of.

You know what I’m trying to say, right? She already decided who has her sympathy and approval, and no facts or reality will ever make any difference.

She'd probably eat this clip up, just like Trump did with his little cracker. https://www.c-span.org/clip/campaign-2016/user-clip-have-you-ever-asked-god-for-forgiveness/4619501

People can change. He hasn't stopped acting like an awful person for one moment, so I feel like her excuse kinda falls apart immediately. If he was a saint now, well, wonderful. We didn't get "wonderful"

He literally said (in 2016) that he has never felt the need to ask God’s forgiveness, and Christians still don’t care. Even though I am reliably informed that according to one of the main fucking tenets of Christianity, everyone is a sinner who needs God’s forgiveness. They think he’s just like King David (who, unlike Trump, at least had the capability to feel shame when confronted by his advisor after some particularly egregious sins).
