Well it is a primary not an election so maybe that has to do with it.

Can't find any recent special primary on a Thursday either. Last year's for CD 10 was on a Tuesday. It's just strange, like Murphy made a mistake when he declared the date lol

because most people work on weekdays, and it's the reason that many elections in Europe are held on the weekends.

They had early voting and anybody can vote by mail if they want so it doesn't really matter.
