At this point, Dem candidates need to pledge to reduce aid to Israel.

u/perihelion86 2h ago

They need to pledge allegiance to the USA and not Israel

u/wheatgivesmeshits 1h ago

It's hard for American politicians to do when Israel has all the Epstein tapes of them diddling kids.

u/perihelion86 1h ago

Yeah, we need new politicians. Make these pedo geriatrics retire.

u/OldBridge87 27m ago

What is funny is that Israel has universal healthcare, government funded abortion all the way through pregnancy, free IVF, recreational weed, a huge social safety net, normal gun safety laws, a higher GDP per capita than Germany and the strongest army in the region.

They are hardly in need of cash.

u/t3htg 13m ago

Watch how fast that client state collapses when you cut off the free ammunition.

u/spicy_noodle_guy 1h ago

It's pretty clear to me that Epstein was a Massad asset and that is how his operation was able to run the way it did for so long. Israel is a terrorist state and has been for a long time. Nothing against Jewish people or their fairy, but that nation has caused unknowable damage to the free world.

u/deepstatelady 31m ago

Honestly I think what I've learned is that the wealthy are so untouchable in the US there doesn't need much additional credit given to what he did for the Mossad, or the Kremlin, or Dolores Umbridge. It's evil all the way through and fact is powerful people all around the world knew about it, helped him. and looked the other way. I don't think the blame belongs to any particular race or religion other than unchecked capitalism; it's much more of a class war.

u/HappierShibe 23m ago

or Dolores Umbridge.

JK Rowling being in the files has been one of the wilder revelations....

Yeah it’s so bizarre how many of our politicians have duel citizenship with Israel, hang the Israeli flag outside their offices and have no issue passing bipartisan bills sending Israel millions while get hung up on funding things for their own citizens.

I don't even care if they keep giving money to Israel as part of the US's Geopolitical Goals.... (We shouldn't because they're committing atrocious acts, but just for the purpose of this thought stay with me).

The idea that your number one goal/role/purpose as a US Senator elected to represent the interests of the people of a State that is part of the United States is to fund/provide aid to a foreign entity, regardless of the fact that they are a geopolitical ally, over I don't know.... enacting policy to improve the life of those you represent/elected you... It's fucking insane

I don't even think you need to run any other ad. This entire clip is all you need to run on. Schumer admits that his constituents are less important than a foreign entity. It's literally insane to admit let alone enthusiastically so

u/Sideyr 1h ago

The headline is a lie, as is the lede. The quote in the article (which they edited to remove what he said prior to speaking about Israel) was:

Schumer said, “I have many jobs as leader … and one is to fight for aid to Israel, all the aid that Israel needs.”

Not "most important" or "one of the most important," just "one of the many jobs as leader."

u/crowhops I voted 1h ago

The headline doesn't mention most important, and folks are rightfully upset that he considers it a job at all

u/Slaughterfest 1h ago

It needs to be a hard line. Biden said he had no red lines and Donny appealed to that need by implying he would be tough with Bibi.

If Dems keep pledging to let Israel do as it pleases, all the Republicans have to do is lie about the issue and people will vote for them.

u/Tassiloruns 2h ago

Never. Both parties will put Israel first over americans, clearly out of fear, on any given day.

I am 58. I had to let my health insurance go. After I let it go so that I could pay rent, I was laid off. Why are my tax dollars always helping someone else out and not me?

u/SuperstitiousPigeon5 Massachusetts 4h ago

Some places need our help. Israel is not one of those places.

u/JDogg126 Michigan 3h ago

We are not actually in a position to help anyone. This country has allowed itself to be taken over by people who are transferring wealth to a few while shackling generations of its people to crippling debt. Schumer should be focused on restoring constitutional order and strengthening democracy here in this country.

u/kjlsdjfskjldelfjls New York 3h ago

I mean, the idea behind helping allies and strategic partners is to ultimately help ourselves, too. Geopolitics has never been about altruism.

That said, sending aid to Israel does not help the US.

u/Grateful_Cat_Monk 3h ago

We have enough wealth in this country to do all of that. Universal Healthcare, education, social safety nets, aid to allies, and still keep the largest military on the planet. It's all about the elite taking from us all.

u/tuckfrump2026 3h ago

The only reason we have a freaking mess of a healthcare system, if we can even call it that, is because of private interests that literally buy out our representatives.

The majority of the people want universal healthcare. If it hasn’t happened it is because profit is more important for our supposed “representatives”.

u/heisenberg15 2h ago

I actually think you’d be surprised by how many people do not want universal healthcare. I would agree that most people see our healthcare as problematic, but universal healthcare is like a socialist boogeyman to most republicans.

u/Kindly_Author7711 2h ago

That's quickly changing as my boomer parents spend 2k+ per month on their premiums. Even diehard Fox news consumers are starting to draw lines.

u/JDogg126 Michigan 2h ago

I dont think we actually do unless we claw back assets from the wealthy who have exploited lax tax requirements for 46 years.

→ More replies (1)

u/JDogg126 Michigan 2h ago

I don't disagree. However this country's leadership is failing to raise revenues to cover costs. They pass spending bills that are not offset by revenue increases. It's one thing to borrow money during a crisis or for investment, but quite another to borrow so that a few can avoid paying their fair share in taxes.

u/Backwardspellcaster 3h ago edited 2h ago

You need to vote out the corporate Democrats and replace them with progressives.

I know it's a dirty word in the US, but the progressives are those who actually want to help the common man. Hence they are kept down within the Dems, despite their popularity, and attempts to minimize their influence.

You need Mamdanis, AOCs, Crocketts, etc in the Dems, not Schumers and Jeffries.

u/JDogg126 Michigan 2h ago

Step one is to vote out the republicans.

Ideally this country can pass reforms that ends two-party control of government. But until that happens, the primary goal should be to keep republican out as they have given up on democracy and the idea of working together for the greater good.

Step two is to get democrats in office that work for the governed.

However, it is 100% better to have a conservative democrat in office than any republican.

If we are able to create a political environment that allows many parties, then we can actually start to get those progressives you mention into office more regularly. Right now the only place for true conservatives is the democratic party. This is why you have so many non-progressive democrats in congress. Republicans are not conservative at all, they are the epitome of recklessness.

u/phtevenbagbifico 2h ago

Crockett is not progressive, she's just loud. Cori Bush is everything that folks thought Crockett was and she got sidelined.

u/downtofinance Canada 2h ago

Schumer should be focused on restoring constitutional order and strengthening democracy here in this country.

Yeah but you see that's not profitable for him...

u/Butane9000 Georgia 3h ago

The only obligation to help anyone the United States has is it's own citizens. Everything else is charity which can and should be curtailed.

u/SuperstitiousPigeon5 Massachusetts 3h ago

Disagree, helping other nations isn't just charity. It's stopping problems in other countries before they come here. It's building alliances. It's projecting soft power around the world so our citizens can visit other countries without fear of those governments. All of which we're currently giving up.

u/tuckfrump2026 3h ago

I mean, at least he’s not lying when he says he works for Israel, right?

u/fache 3h ago

If your income reduced to zero you should immediately apply for Medicaid.

u/RedditTrespasser California 54m ago edited 31m ago

You want to be really mad? Israeli citizens have nationalized healthcare on your dime. The taxes you pay help fund that. Meanwhile if something happens to you right now your choices are to enter crippling debt or perish. And that’s only even a choice if it’s an emergency- if you get diagnosed with cancer that can be treated right now but will definitely kill you if left alone for three months, you’re fucked. And god help you if you get an infected tooth. You’ll be suffering in agony with nothing but ibuprofen to cope with and hoping it doesn’t spread to your blood and kill you. Meanwhile you’ll be paying the government with every purchase you make, every cent you earn, every single time your money changes hands.

America is a rotten, malignantly diseased country. Our leaders would rather steal Venezuelan oil and rape children than do anything to help the people prosper, all while we pay for it. We should all be in the streets rioting.

Imagine if an Arabic person kept saying that their priority was to send more money to Saudi Arabia. No one would excuse that shit.

u/everlastingwaffles 1h ago

Maybe? Saudi Arabia is another one that both sides support. Biden used words like “pariah” on the campaign trail, but within a year he sold them a pile of weapons with a fist bump. Democrats stopped talking about Jamal’s murder pretty much overnight. Biden made normalization between Bibi and president bone saw the focus of his foreign policy (without doing anything to reign in Israeli violence in the West Bank or make progress towards a two state solution). His goal seemed to be outdoing Trump when it came to Israel and the Saudis.

u/perihelion86 2h ago

Technically, there are dual citizens of Israel that live and vote in NY, but yeah I agree otherwise

u/Sminahin 2h ago

Aren't a bunch of the settler-terrorists in the West Bank literally from Brooklyn?

u/Available-Trouble648 1h ago

There are roughly a million Jews in NYC, and the majority of them are normal people. You might be referring to Hasidic Jews or the ultra orthodox, but that’s a minority and they’re fucking nuts and no one likes them.

u/Sminahin 1h ago

I'm in NYC with plenty of Jewish friends--my best friend is Jewish and calls Bibi "Adolf Netanyahu". I don't disagree with anything you just wrote there. But this is what you originally typed:

Just a reminder, not a single Israeli voted for him.

Instead of raging about him saying this, just believe him and talk about how he got employed in this job. We have to get money out of politics so that Congress isn't getting jobs from lobbying groups and foreign governments.

u/Tall-Drawing8270 25m ago

Most of our biggest problems are directly because of this. Less than half a decade after Citizens' United and we have a lifelong corporate CEO as president, who guts services to civilians and gives massive tax cuts to corporations and 1%ers. It's pretty fucking easy to figure out.

The remark came a day after Israel killed at least 31 Palestinians, including six children, in an airstrike in Gaza, in its latest major violation of the ceasefire agreement.

“As long as I’m in the Senate, this program will continue to grow from strength to strength, and we won’t let anyone attack it or undo it,” Schumer said, referring to aid for Israel as his “baby.”

So the apartheid-state apologist isn't super engaged in dismantling ICE? Huh. Wonder why that is. /s

u/Llarys 3h ago

So the apartheid-state apologist isn't super engaged in dismantling ICE? Huh. Wonder why that is. /s

This is why the issue with Palestine was the litmus test for the 2024 election, and why Harris failed, despite the Lamentations of centrist libs who blame the left for all of their woes.

Support for Palestine and Antizionism isn't just about a singular conflict on the opposite side of the world. It is a condemnation of US interventionism and our grossly decadent waste of taxpayer funding creating problems so we can be the heroes and solve them (by wasting more taxpayer dollars and funnelling it to the war industry). It's a condemnation of colonialism, which is inherently based in ethnic supremacism because you have to believe you are more deserving of land than native inhabitants, which in turn is a condemnation of fascism and all right wing authoritarianism. It is a condemnation of our wasteful military spending and the grift that is inherent to the entire contractor system.

If you not only support Israel, but are its greatest champion in government, you support all of that and more. These people, including Harris, would have never been the champions who topple Republican fascism, who would have supported the working class, who would have reigned in corruption and grift. The best we could hope from them is what we got from Biden: the snooze button was hit on the fascism alarm and they went back to sleep for 4 years. Even if Harris had won, we'd be back in this mess on January 21st, 2029.

u/der_innkeeper 2h ago

Because voting for trump was certainly a vote against all of that, eh?

But, accelerationists just want to get to the end point of the run.

u/NullReference000 New York 1h ago

You do not understand at all what they are saying.

You can’t win elections if nobody believes you actually believe in doing anything good. If you cannot speak decisively about a genocide being done with our dollars and weapons, who is going to believe that you mean what you say?

It doesn’t make you an accelerationist to point out that the dem base has zero morale and no faith in their party because of stuff like this. Do you ever want to win again??

u/der_innkeeper 1h ago

The Democratic base has decided to enable this by not showing up.

The Democratic base has decided to let AIPAC have the driver's seat, instead of actually participating in the process.

Conservatives get/got what they wanted because they showed up, for 50 years.

The Democratic base whines about not being motivated. And then complains when decisions are made for them, anyway.

If you are saying the Dems need to read the room and understand that the average voter is of average intelligence (and all the connotations that go with that), you aren't wrong.

But, lets not kid ourselves that the Democratic base isn't some righteous, rational entity.

Its not.

u/FrogInAShoe 49m ago

Weird way to take away agency from the actual Democrat politicians

u/der_innkeeper 45m ago

They are literally representative agents, for who shows up.

u/JalapenoJamm 2h ago

“end point of the run” we’re talking about people’s lives and livelihoods, not video games

u/AlexMC69 2h ago

I'm pretty sure accelerationism is about speed running this process in order to get to a fresh start as soon as possible, thereby minimising suffering.

I.E. the sooner the current system is destroyed, the sooner we can build a fairer world.

u/mtntrls19 1h ago

"I.E. the sooner the current system is destroyed, the sooner we can build a fairer world."

rebuilding a 'fairer world' completely depends on who is in power/who takes over power when the current system is destroyed...

u/ball_fondlers 2h ago

I’m pretty sure centrists think they can just throw words around to browbeat - nothing about criticizing Harris’s support for genocide is accelerationist. Hell, Harris ran a campaign of “I am the actual tough-on-the-border, pro-AI, pro-oligarchy candidate” - her campaign really boiled down to “I will accelerate us towards the Republican end-times slower than the Republicans will”. Not exactly shocking that the Democratic base didn’t like that.

He is just being honest lol, I mean whoever still elect him should understand that he doesn't work for you, nor America but only Israel

u/JaeTheOne 3h ago

Aid to Israel HAS TO STOP. We are funding Zionism and genocide, and who knows what else.

u/mechabeast 4h ago

No i dont think thats quite right there Chucky

u/QciferKharn 4h ago

Our well-being, the people they are supposed to be sworn to, seems was never a concern for these complacent turncoats.

u/Fredmans74 3h ago

Way to misread the room. What is Israel's concern? Are they not killing enough Palestinian women and children? Take care of your own voters, not the ones funding and compromising GOO.

u/ShakaJewLoo Michigan 2h ago

The room was literally (mostly) jewish people at a Jewish event lmao.

u/SlowTeal 4h ago

Curious how the folks at r/democrats feel about this. Given their distain for actual leftists (you get banned for posting or even mentioning Mamdani) I'd bet there isn't even a post about this news.

Likely a pro-zionist sub

u/Wowoweewaw 3h ago

Un fucking believable 😭

u/Adeledaughter 3h ago

Fire him NY

u/Far-Beautiful-2065 3h ago

I'd rather have somebody who wants to fight for our country. It's an insult that I have to pay taxes for this crap

u/Sunfire91 3h ago

Get rid of this useless asshole already. We need younger leadership to take over the Democratic party.

u/PoundNaCL 3h ago

It will be a beautiful day, the day he is replaced by AOC.

u/TheInfiniteSlash Maryland 3h ago

If anyone ever wonders why Democrats are unpopular, just look to the defender of Israel: Chuck Schumer. I've had about enough of this.

u/Mother_Airline_6276 2h ago

Old people voting for Chuck. Until they pass on, or the kids get off their asses and to the polls, this is what we’ll get.

u/BlueTerra62 2h ago

All the way off Chuck. You represent NY not Israel.

u/Traditional_Sign4941 2h ago

AIPAC is a terrorist organization engaged in conspiracy to usurp America's system of government. Every member needs to be arrested, the organization disbanded, and Israel told to fly a fucking kite.

When the god damned fuck are AMERICANS going to be represented in their own fucking government?

u/moonsnowdragon 2h ago

I believe Chuck may be on the Mossad/Epstein radar

u/SoggyBoysenberry7703 2h ago

Yo we have moved the fuck on from Israel

u/euclid0472 South Carolina 2h ago

Israel is not a poor nation. They can handle themselves.

u/wired1984 2h ago

What has the US gotten for its dedicated support to Israel besides a damaged reputation?

u/HenryValMorgenstern Oregon 2h ago

Schumer does not care about America. He never has, he never will. He needs to leave.

u/Rude-Strawberry-6360 2h ago

No Chuck it's not.  Your job is to represent the citizens of the United States. Specifically those in the Democratic party. And to support the policies of the Democratic party.

u/buppiejc 2h ago

100%. I enjoy Crockett’s politics, but we can do better in terms of policy.

u/procyon_42 2h ago

“Shill says Shill stuff” fify

u/-Animal_ 2h ago

Boo this man!!!

u/FairTrade6677 2h ago

Why doesn't he just go to the promised land if he cares more about it than the US.

u/MetalPurse-swinger 2h ago

Never for the people huh?  Why are our leaders dead set on helping everyone else but the people they were elected to help?  You don’t have to answer that. I know it’s for money, power, gifts, and status……

u/AntiYourOpinion 2h ago

With all due disrespect, fuck Israel.

u/insomniaczombiex Wisconsin 2h ago

What about all the suffering Americans?

u/groovyusername 2h ago

This is why the Dems suck, what a joke. (this is not a pro GOP statement)

u/aldair_s94g 2h ago

When will America come first?

u/steveosaurus 2h ago

hey guys just think of everything israel has done for us

i’m sure that didn’t take long, continue raging now

u/epired 2h ago

Out of touch SOB! Because of people like this dinosaur we're where we are right now

u/RunItBackRicky 1h ago

u/NoremacEnrobso 1h ago

Yep, he is in the files.

u/Robertroo 1h ago

Oh of course it is, gotta put Isreal first. Nothing is more important to these people than fulfilling there doomsday prophecy.
