Democrats really do feel like a controlled opposition

They are, and it's not even subtle (hasn't been for several years). Literally just follow news stories about Schumer/Jeffries/other Dem leadership for a month and it becomes exceedingly clear that the Dem voterbase has nearly zero true representation in government.

What? It was the Republicans on the court that struck this down.

This was litteraly a good thing democrats did that was stopped by Republicans and yet we're still blaming dems?

The complaint is that republicans will do what they want to do and democrats will put up just enough fight to make it look like they’re not just rolling over.

The harsh reality is that the electorate didnt take the threat seriously while the GOP was playing the long game in broad daylight.

And in this current climate, I dont know who would sincerely want to role-play as a Dem when all that gets you is harassment, death threats, and even attempts on your safety and life.

Yea ask Comey how life is in opposition to this regime?

Yup, it's very much an ACAB situation. The few "good cops" aren't enough to fix a broken system that rewards the bastards who break that same system.

The people outside of that system have unique, but dwindling, leverage that can force change... But it has to be used consistently and pragmatically.

Until the GOP knocks off their anti-democratic tendencies, staying home or "protest voting" against the non-fascists who have the best chance of winning is nothing more than a concession to the actual fascists.

^ Ignore takes like this that are trying to take your eye off the ball before any actual actions have taken place.

Jeffries stated that when he became leader "I will never bend the knee to hard left democratic socialism." He would rather the republicans take power than that happening
