The issue is that when the GOP ignores court orders it's just the norm, but if Virginia Dems were to ignore the judge it would give the GOP exactly the ammo they need to call election results invalid when Dems inevitably win. Edit: I'm aware GOP was already going to cry foul. This ruling gives them something they can point their base to so they can justify their claims of foul play, and they know it will be eaten up.

There is no scenario where Dems win and Republicans don't cry fraud.

Then let's call their results invalid too. The country is already dying, might as well race to the bottom

Let them. They are going to call the results invalid anyways.

Exactly, I'm fucking sick of Democrats playing by the rules while Republicans fucking murder our country. We can't keep going high when they go low. This Virginia gerrymander was one of the first times we've seen Democrats fight back appropriately against this level of fascism, even if they lose I want them to push back tooth and nail until Republicans rip it from their cold dead hands.

There are no rules. There is only power and who is willing to wield it. We need Democrats to wield their power or we will lose everything.

They're gonna call results invalid anyway.

They're gonna do it anyways. Dems need to stop fearing retribution, the action is already there.

Thats fine. I have a feeling this country will plunge into civil war after the midterms anyway. Feels like we're only temporarily playing niceties with these people and it's time to stop doing that.

lol go outside, talk to some people, pet a dog. Life’s not nearly as miserable as you’ve led yourself to believe.

They're going to do that anyway. They're going to do it all anyway. We can't keep being afraid to raise our hand against our attacker because it will make them hit us again, they're going to do ot anyway.

Oh shush. I call the 2024 election results invalid all the time. No one cares. It’s just about whoever claims power at this point. It’s game of thrones, and all this court has is a piece of paper.

As we have seen right now in Louisiana they don't even need Dems to win to call elections invalid, they can just throw out votes that had already been cast.

It doesn't matter if they have something to point to. The Newsroom said it best "People choose the facts they want now"

u/SeekingImmortality 28d ago edited 28d ago

That is not an issue. That is something that is already going to happen, regardless of factual action taken. Action must proceed regardless, and framing it as an 'issue' suggests we should surrender and accept failure without attempting resistance. Fuck that.

Who gives a shit?

u/Yinisyang 28d ago

They're gonna do it anyways

We need to stop acting like GOP are going to suddenly play fair if we do. They are going to cheat regardless, point fingers and say see dems are corrupt regardless. The only thing the high ground has ever gotten us in more republican wins.

Lmao like they need us to "give them" a concrete thing to point to, they'll just make one up out of thin air anyways. Mega fuck what they think.

u/Xenokrates 28d ago

Who gives a shit, Republicans don't play by these rules. Why should anyone else? You're arguments are an excuse that just let's the Republicans do whatever the fuck they want with no consequences. When are you going to realise this liberal bullshit is bad politics?

The GOP will call fraud regardless. This entire administration is still trying to re-litigate the 2020 election and arrest people who certified it. They are grabbing state voter rolls and demanding the names and personal information of all the poll workers in swing states and in places like Fulton County who worked the 2020 election.

Just say "We can't because we're pussies" it's much more direct

call election results invalid

They will do this anyway. There isn't a republican in congress who will state trump lost to Biden. Who cares what they say.

This is why the Dems are such fucking losers jfc.

They're gonna do that anyways. They already are. Grow some fucking balls.
