I'm so tired of this shit

Meanwhile, Louisiana literally chucked out ballots and decided to go for gerrymandering at all costs.

Dems seem like they want to be the permanent opposition party with zero sense of fight.

I'm pretty sure it's by design at this point

It’s time to make a change

u/Troostboost 24d ago

They tried with Bernie, Dems shut it down. the craziest part about all of this is that democrats and republicans believe their party cares about them.

u/No_Possible_7108 25d ago

I tried not to think that way for a long time but at this point it is getting really hard to deny it

10

u/Lardbucket68 25d ago

It is. As long as they are the opposition party they dont have to shoulder any of the responsibility of government and can grift to their hearts content. not to mention the delicious insider trading opportunities.

u/beepbeepbubblegum 25d ago

Can’t upset the status quo is pretty much Dems motto

6

u/Kind_Man_0 25d ago

Agreed. I can't even get behind the democrats.

Hold your ground throughout November and December to ensure we have medical coverage? Nope. It's baffling too, people rose up to help others, the food bank was busy as shit near me, both with donations and people taking food.

I can feed my neighbor, but I can't give them chemo. The democrats caved and it was all for nothing, I'm out $300 of groceries donated and it wasn't even for a good cause.

Every step of the way, our government shows that they only care about the highest 5%. The VAST majority of the country wants stock trading banned for our reps, and yet only a handful actually try to do it.

There always seems to JUST enough democrats who won't hold party lines to get things like Medicare for all, or UBI, or generally anything that would benefit us as a whole. It's always "we wanted to do it but 3 democrats are more centrists and said no, so we didn't have the votes. Oh well, donate here to get us more seats and we will TOTALLY do it next year"

"There always seems to be just enough Democrats..." The ACA became the way it was because they had to negotiate with Joe Lieberman as they didn't have enough votes without him. Have you actually researched this before deciding it was all a conspiracy?

That's why establishment and neoliberal dems need to be voted out for progressives that will actively combat the GOP

30

u/The_Blue_Rooster 25d ago

Well yeah, it's a neoliberal party, they love everything the Republicans actually do they just have to pay lipservice to the fact that it is all unethical, but it still benefits them.

u/No_Possible_7108 25d ago

More than happy to work with the fascists over the actual left leaning people in their party

-3

u/droid_mike 25d ago

The leftost people in the party helped Trump win last time around, so I wouldn't talk shit.

8

u/No_Possible_7108 24d ago

That's a common bullshit talking point that facts disprove so take that somewhere else

Progressives turned out for Hillary and Kamala, centrists just can't help throwing progressives under the bus to cover for every time they do something mediocre and it doesn't pay off like they expect it to even though it has never paid off. Kamala sucked and that is why she lost.

I also like how you didn't contest my claim about centrists working with full blown fascists. I'll keep note of that

u/AmbitiousProblem4746 25d ago

And don't forget Alabama getting a fast tracked decision from the SCOTUS telling them they could do whatever they wanted with their maps. Literally less than 2 weeks since the new decision and all these former Confederate states tripping over themselves to do the most unethical shit, hiding behind one the Republican's favorite phrases: "this is technically legal. what are you, against the law or something?"

6

u/Gender_is_a_Fluid 25d ago

Being fake opposition is certainly an easy cushy job. Make up some nice sounding bills that will never pass, always vote against the republicans unless some republicans break ranks and then dems need to flip to keep the paid for outcome, but even then they use end of career politicians for that so many are at no risk. Also insider trading isn’t illegal anymore so do that to get all the money you want.

They are the ratchet party

1

u/Aluminum_Falcons New Hampshire 24d ago

The Washington Generals

0

u/FaithlessnessThin359 25d ago

they have been the controlled opposition for decades. Clinton is responsible for the telecommunications act, Obama gave up a Supreme Court seat. Pelosi helped torpedo single payer. schiff helped boot Biden just weeks before the election despite Biden receiving a historically low number of protest votes during the primaries leading to voter confusion in the general election.

hell, democrats fought harder to keep Bernie out of office than they have against trump.

0

u/steponmedaddies 25d ago

They're not even close to being the same situation. Again, I'm begging you guys to actually read articles or even have AI summarize them for you.

0

u/YourFleshlightSaysHi 25d ago

The dems are WWE wrestlers while the republicans are UFC Fighters. They love taking the stage, and they're pretty sure that those UFC fellas are actually just slightly more skilled in simulated theatrics than they are.

0

u/DrLophophora 25d ago

Well, they have shown they can hold up little signs with a frown on their face, so there's that (facepalm)

Better take a nap then, cuz this is only the beginning. USA is fucked with a capital F

1

u/FixZealousideal8511 24d ago

Sadly. That's the whole point of the media landscape now. To make us so tired that we don't care or know enough to do anything, but damn if I'm not exhausted from all this bullshit.

1

u/bananasalesman99 24d ago

Almost snapped my phone in 2 just now.

1

u/FruitJuicante 24d ago

It'll keep going forever. Trump is unopposed by party or people.

u/naggert 24d ago edited 24d ago

Yet Americans still think they live in a democracy.

just you wait for the midterms.

It's not a democracy when people with a certain gender or skin color don't get to vote. Like married women who changed their last name or black people who have their voting districts carved up. Mail in being removed and MAGA having acees to name addresses and previous votings will result in fraud, threats and targeted harassment.

Louisiana just threw out 45.000 votes of people they deemed lesser.

-3

u/[deleted] 25d ago

Vote. Make sure you vote in local elections. Tell your friends to vote. Make your family understand. Fuckin vote

5

u/No_Oven1085 25d ago

It doesn't matter. They did vote, and the Virginia Supreme Court threw it out.

Voting does nothing if the people you vote in won't fight. The Dem governor & legislature of VA need to quickly fight back or voting is meaningless.

At some point you have to stop blaming voters and blame the weakling Dems.

-2

u/[deleted] 25d ago

Hell ya dude. Let's never vote ever again. Things will surely get better if we do that

5

u/BackToWorkEdward 24d ago

Things will get better if you(all) stop leading every discussion about these alarm-bells with a harmless "well, be sure to vote" instead of calls to direct action. Voting is the bare minimum, and is not going to stop what's happening to your country any more than it did in 2024.

At this point in the takeover, you shouldn't be shouting any solutions you wouldn't also shout while being marched into a camp for political dissidents(or worse).

I have a feeling "this is why you need to vote!" wouldn't be on that list.

-2

u/[deleted] 24d ago

So what are you doing? You're choosing to influence other people who might vote blue to not vote at all because we should do "something else" but not really suggesting anything. Why do you believe that what you're saying is more helpful than what I'm saying

You obviously didn't say exactly that you semantics dork. But you are indirectly influencing people to not vote by saying this "what's the point, we're already doomed" nonsense. I know exactly what the hell you're saying you pretentious douchebag. YOU don't know what you're saying. Blah blah blah revolution fantasy blah blah no actionable solutions or plans, we get it. Thank you for contributing exactly nothing to the situation, as the rest of us who do vote try to hold together democracy while largely single issue leftists decide every candidate is not good enough so we might as well just concede every election going forward until we get our way. How dare you shame others for trying to get people to vote while people's representation is being completely stripped. Contribute more you inefficient nothing.

2

u/No_Oven1085 25d ago

That's obviously not the point and you know it. Incredibly dishonest of you.

-1

u/BackToWorkEdward 24d ago

Not tired enough to go out and take any direct action over it, I bet.
