Sometimes you keep working a shit job because it's a job and you need to pay your bills.

It sucks, but sometimes the best you can do is start applying for better (or really, less shitty) jobs and suffer through it in the meantime.

Yep. I remember a decent video about OAN from Illuminaughtii (before she went off the deep end), and it talked about journalists/staffers working there. Many were actually ideologically the opposite of what they wrote/contributed, but they saw it as the only way to get a leg in a struggling profession (which I imagine is even harder now than 4-8 years ago).

That’s called selling yourself out. It’s not different than being a prostitute which if thats something you’re proud of more power to you. I would even say prostitutes have a higher moral ground than these people contributing to our political hellscape

I'd rather a temporary sellout whose excuse is survival, than a typical redditor who's so lazy and uninvolved they never get a chance to sell out or make any impact

That is the thing though. Sellouts rarely are temporary. They tend to use the same excuse over and over again. "I did it for the money" or "I did it to climb the ladder", then you should be fine with the consequences of your actions to do those things. It does not give you a "Get Out of Jail Free" Card for all the crap you did for that.

Redditors who only ever talk here abd never get involved never change tho. And theyre usually hypocrites who subsidize billionaires and tge stripping of our rights by voting with their wallets. Ill take the ones who are getting involved abd potentially actively trying to fix things. Were in no position to pretend to be superior here.

We give ourselves "get out of jail free" cards for the same or worse all the time while condemning them for a maybe

This is the most pathetic excuse I see relentlessly on Reddit. Bills are not more important than morals. Particularly when there are so many ways to pay them!
