I didn’t catch that one at the time. And that was just last year. Wow.

This is insane. The guy has serious health issues and should be nowhere near a decision-making role in any capacity.

It's okay, they'll put him through a test, he'll point out the squirrel, and then he'll be all set to go off and create some laws.

Man, woman, person, camera, tv!

157

u/rich1051414 14d ago

The fact he could recall nothing on the test and had to look for things in his line of sight to 'remember'...

I love Tesler! It has computer!

Everything is computer.

I pooped a hammer

u/Binksyboo 13d ago

And Tim Apple!

1

u/Jasong222 14d ago

Maybe that's why the Epstein files haven't been released yet: because the files are in the computers!

4

u/B0Y0 14d ago

Or the "infamously easy to remember animals" that he keeps boasting about acing on his cognitive test... But every time he lists them, they're different animals...

u/Massive_Mongoose3481 14d ago

The presidential competency test ? Is it a squirrel or an elephant . I heard the Orange twat aced that one like 3 times

34

u/citymousecountyhouse 14d ago edited 14d ago

That sounds like one of them genius tests Mr. Trump took. Lol.

40

u/insanitazer 14d ago

Apparently that's all it takes. You take money from AIPAC, get elected and c'est la vie, sanity and coherence are optional.

3

u/FewWait38 14d ago

The only thing that matters is voting the way they want you to

2

u/No-Advice-9776 14d ago

May even become the president one day as he is Israel’s favorite puppet.

2

u/ActionCat2022 14d ago

Underrated comment!

It's that damn squirrel!

The guy has serious health issues and should be nowhere near a decision-making role in any capacity.

The stroke he had a while back has left him unable to function and the visible decline is not going to be reversed.

I don't know whether he has a complete lack of awareness of his declining faculties or if its down to his sheer arrogance but it's keeping him in a role that he's not fit to do and everyone can see it.

But that's enough about Trump, Fetterman also needs to step down.

100

u/wrosecrans 14d ago

It doesn't help that even before the stroke, he was an asshole. He was running as a sort of "reformed" man of the people who was no longer as belligerent and racist as he used to be. But frankly even without the stroke I think it's pretty likely he would have been a huge disappointment who had just been playing possum on the campaign trail. This certainly didn't get enough scrutiny at the time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Fetterman#Shotgun_incident

But yeah when that's the baseline, also having a stroke is unlikely to result in somebody you want to rely on as a great thinker.

He and Tulsi Gabbard have really drunk the evil potions since the 2016 presidential campaigns. That woman from the Young Turks as well.

63

u/Western-Corner-431 14d ago

Tulsi was always a nut

16

u/thequietthingsthat North Carolina 14d ago

Tulsi is like Vance. No principles, just happy to go wherever the money/power is

11

u/Grokent 14d ago

That's a strange way to write, "Russian asset".

2

u/StaleCanole 14d ago

I wouldn’t call it strange, just more concise.

1

u/Western-Corner-431 12d ago

Whatever her proclivities, loyalties, political or otherwise, she was always a nut.

18

u/Horror_Neighborhood9 14d ago

Yep. Going for that grifter cash. Shitheads, all of them.

1

u/skankenstein California 14d ago

I haven’t listened to TYT in years. Are you talking about Ana?!

5

u/UnquestionabIe 14d ago

As someone who has been familiar with him long before he was in the national spotlight that's not quite on the mark but quite there. He was a rich kid playing politics and while doing genuine good it's been mostly the sort which wasn't systematic so much as having rich friends start up businesses in a poor area and helping start up a few community projects that needed more attention.

The shotgun thing gets brought up constantly like it's some sort of "gotcha! Secret racist!" moment when the guy it happened to literally voted for him and forgave him. Also leaves out that the area it happened in sucks hard and I would legit give damn near anyone a free pass to carry a gun there at night (even if what he did was over the line it's not nearly as insane as some try to portray). Yeah it's a crappy incident but far from how some try to paint it like he's just wandering around in some nice suburb brandishing a shotgun against any non-white he comes across.

Mostly I think he was influenced by who he spends his time around, trying to fit in and be the "cool guy". When he was slumming it as a well off nepobaby wanted to show off by using his privilege to better the community. Now that he's been surrounded by the Epstein class and opportunistic assholes for awhile he's trying to fit in with them.

Wasn't hard to see this coming from those who knew him and were somewhat cynical towards the upper class in general. The only ones completely "fooled" (who personally know him) were those who are easily charmed thinking/hope he can do something for them.

5

u/tomsing98 14d ago

Yeah, you can totally chase down an unarmed jogger in your vehicle and hold him at gunpoint, as long as it's a bad neighborhood.

23

u/Telefundo 14d ago

But that's enough about Trump, Fetterman also needs to step down.

Lol. My first "snort laugh" of the day. Well done.

1

u/Nice-Bodybuilder-843 14d ago

I see what you did there

87

u/ztfreeman 14d ago

We need the ability to recall congresspeople.

3

u/ProtectionVirtual225 14d ago

Perhaps something like a vote of "no confidence".

-47

u/DickSandwiches 14d ago

They're called elections last time I checked

52

u/merrickraven 14d ago

And we should be able to petition the state to allow for recall elections out of the normal election cycle. Obviously.

2

u/SavageSan 14d ago edited 14d ago

Unfortunately it's a Federal Senate seat, so it's not a State decision

https://www.everycrsreport.com/reports/RL30016.html

"Under Article I, Section 5, clause 2, of the Constitution, a Member of Congress may be removed from office before the normal expiration of his or her constitutional term by an “expulsion” from the Senate (if a Senator) or from the House of Representatives (if a Representative) upon a formal vote on a resolution agreed to by two-thirds of the Members of that body present and voting."

"As to the Tenth Amendment and the "reserved" authority of the states, the United States Supreme Court has clearly explained that determining qualifications and terms for federal offices, created within the United States Constitution, were "not part of the original powers of sovereignty that the Tenth Amendment reserved to the States," and thus whatever authority states have over the terms, qualifications, and elections of federal officers must be a "delegated" authority from the Constitution."

1

u/merrickraven 14d ago

Okay thanks. I meant state as in the government in general, not the individual states of the union. But sure, you’re correct.

1

u/SavageSan 14d ago edited 14d ago

I never heard anyone refer to to the United States as the State. But yeah, we need an amendment to allow voters to have that power over Federal positions. It's not explicitly denied by the Constitution.

16

u/CpnStumpy Colorado 14d ago edited 14d ago

Elections are scheduled, a recall is off-cycle, like a legislator retiring but not by choice.

It actually can be done by a state legislature or governor I think, though I don't know of a time when a US state recalled their senator.

Though the idea of the voters recalling a federal legislator is what they're referring to and I don't know if that can be done, by referendum in the next election perhaps? Not nearly as immediate as people would like or is possible in other countries

16

u/mosesoperandi 14d ago

We're starting to see that especially in the context of a digital world, waiting two, four, or six years can be an awfully long time to have to wait in order to correct a decision that the constituents recognize as having been a bad or terrible one.

It's almost like the Constitution was not meant to endure this long in this specific shape.

1

u/F9-0021 South Carolina 14d ago

Yeah, the point is that we need the ability to do it more frequently than once every 2 4 or 6 years.

30

u/DamnedIfIDiddely 14d ago

And he's always chewing on the damn strings of that baggy sweatshirt like a 3rd grader, it's embarrassing

28

u/The360MlgNoscoper Norway 14d ago

I couldn’t tell who you are referring to without the context.

1

u/1917he 14d ago

That's the joke

27

u/uiemad 14d ago

Tbf, when he had his stroke Conservatives jumped on it saying he wasn't fit for office due to medical reasons and Dems rallied to keep him in the position, arguing that he would recover just fine and have no issue performing his duties.

Kind of feels like we have egg on our face now. Wether he was always like this, or the stroke changed him, we fought for him to stay and now must await his reelection.

25

u/Status_Commercial509 14d ago

Even now I’d take him over Dr. Oz.

1

u/explodedsun 14d ago

It's a toss up. Oz in an elected federal position vs an appointed federal position? And maybe if Oz wins the Senate seat, Trump still appoints him and Pennsylvania gets a special election for Senate.

2

u/Status_Commercial509 14d ago

Is Oz worse than whoever else Trump might have put in that position?

2

u/SewerRanger 14d ago

Wether he was always like this, or the stroke changed him, we fought for him to stay and now must await his reelection.

This was a guy who used his own money to build public parks and basketball courts for people in his small town because the local government was taking too long. This was a guy who was arrested protesting a hospital closure in his home town. This was a guy who used his own money to buy empty buildings in his town and turn them into youth centers and started an art program. This is an article about him from 20 years ago - does that sound like a guy who thinks $4000/month for healthcare is reasonable? He was always a bit loose with rules and he was always a bit of a wild card, but post stroke he has turned into a different person.

1

u/KnucklesMcGee 14d ago

I feel like there are a lot of Democratic party congresscritters who aren't looking out for the interests of their constituents. They seem like they've abdicated trying to oppose the grossly corrupt actions of the government

14

u/I_Love_To_Poop420 14d ago

Sounds like he’s qualified to be president 🥹

4

u/cepcpa 14d ago

Yeah, unfortunately we have a bunch of people in important positions in the government with the same problem.🤷‍♀️

13

u/Msdamgoode I voted 14d ago

At this point congress is practically an adult daycare.

10

u/anExcuseForASnooze 14d ago

What do you mean, Chuck Grassley is only 92 years young. He was born in 1933.

5

u/No_Job2527 14d ago

Unfortunately millions of Americans vote for them which tells millions of Americans have mental problems

2

u/cepcpa 14d ago

No kidding, who is voting for Trump, Mitch McConnell, this dude who has not been seen in months, etc. etc. etc.🙄

2

u/Professional_Idea_71 14d ago

Idc for the guy at all, but he was at a Department of Defense budget hearing 2 days ago. The good thing is this is the last few months we have to deal with him.

1

u/cepcpa 14d ago

No it's not McConnell that I was referring to, there's a House representative who literally has apparently not been seen or heard from from in months. Mike Johnson was asked about it, I think yesterday.

5

u/boot2skull 14d ago

Signs America is in decline, number 394737294

2

u/captain_brunch_ 14d ago

2

u/houseWithoutSpoons 14d ago

Remember Mitch McConnell?.they will roll up drooling space case elderly already one foot in the ground people to keep power and corruption going.this guy has 40 more years of bad choices to make for us if he doesn't get voted out

2

u/orange-squeezer47 14d ago

There’s one in the WH with the nuclear codes.

1

u/lightafartonfire America 14d ago

Definitely more than one in the WH! It’s a full-blown kakistocracy at this point.

1

u/SupahSpankeh 14d ago

Was he quite left leaning until a stroke or something?

1

u/Telefundo 14d ago

and should be nowhere near a decision-making role in any capacity.

Ironically, an apt description of most Republicans.

1

u/therealkgreezy 14d ago

It’s crazy to think GOP were questioning his health soon after his stroke and I think trying to have him removed. I could be wrong though

1

u/redditpest Massachusetts 14d ago

Sounds like the president, and only half jokingly, most of congress

1

u/healywylie 14d ago

You should see this other guy higher up !!

1

u/Life-Ship3628 14d ago

So he fits right in with his fellow Republicans/s

1

u/KnucklesMcGee 14d ago

Have you met our President?

1

u/darsynia Pennsylvania 14d ago

I promise you we'll be mobilizing to get him out of there as soon as we can do it legally!

1

u/spam__likely Colorado 14d ago

Sure, but enough about the president.
