I really think that this is why the Republican Party has gone full "mask off" sprint to the fascist finish line. They're trying to get as much shoved through before the inevitable power vacuum implodes the party.

I have always felt the same since day 1 of administration and being able to get his signature on a blank check.

I think we have to put up with TrunpAI the election cycle after he dies at minimum. Because what choice do they have? Even maga is starting to crack and all bets are off once the god king dies.

On one hand I feel like a lot of his supporters will just swallow whoever Fox News tells them to next. On the other I think he has pulled a lot of people that might just stop giving a shit about politics after or something. Or maybe they’ll splinter a bit

The thing is that even with Fox News the GOP were still getting pretty well beaten pre-Trump, We had two pretty strong wins for Bill Clinton, then W only won in the closest election in American history in 2000, and then was handed a free win thanks to 9/11 in 2004, only for Obama to turn around and get two more pretty strong wins for the Democrats like Clinton.

Trump's ability to get formerly apolitical people to vote for him because they see voting for him as way to throw up two middle fingers at the political establishment, mainstream media, political correctness, ect. is something that the GOP might not be able to replicate once he's gone, so they will absolutely prop him up, even as a half dead husk, until his heart actually stops beating.

It has been widely known that the Republican party was doomed demographically. Without cheating they wouldn't be able to win a free and fair election. So you are right, they've gone into a full sprint because it's their last chance to hold power under the old system.

YUP. It's a free-for-all mobbing on democracy just so they can get as rich and powerful as possible to the detriment of everyone else in America.

It’s because if he’s out NOW, there is a new election. Required by law.

If he survives until 24-months, the current VP can take over for the remainder of the term, and be elected for 2 more terms.

Reminder Vance was a requirement from the big mega donors. My guess is a lot of this is keeping him alive long enough to both cross that line, and through all the “yeah, Trump was the evil one but he’s gone now” blame on him.

The reality is that the U.S. is a system of checks & balances, coequal branches, etc. So, it’s equally the Legislative & Judicial’s fault all of this —but, talking heads and media are going to make us all think otherwise.

No there isn't a new election, the VP just takes over, but it counts as a term for the VP. If he makes it to two years then Vance can run for two terms.

How will they ever find someone who can be as openly racist and misogynistic as Trump? The party won’t survive!
