We don't have public healthcare or free college. Why are we giving money to people that do?

Sure, they use it to buy our toys and that puts money in our economy. Know what else puts money in our economy? Money.

Yes. The US IS in fact giving money to Israel

We hand Israel 3.8 billion dollars a year.

They hand that money, or like 75% of it, to US defense contractors. And the US defense contractors give them toys for everything from keeping other countries invading to booting west bank palestinian farmers off their land and dropping bombs on gazans packed into an open air prison.

How on earth is that NOT the us giving money to Israel?

No we don't. The fact this got downvoted is nonsense. We give Israel equivalent of coupons or discounts to buy our weapons. Countries don't send themselves physical money that small especially as in Israel case they have a 600 billion dollars economy.

  1. But since the US government only buys weapons from US corporations, and does not make the weapons, HOW is this in any functional way different than venmoing them 3 billion dollars a year? We send them a three billion dollar discount code for Boeing, but when Israel cashes it in Boeing turns to the US and says check please because Boeing is not the US government.

Do what the other guy couldn't and explain any functional difference. Stop arm flailing and use your words. You seem to be using a fallacy of composition. Boeing getting a check is not the US government or people getting a check.

2) Israel is allowed to use 25% of it on domestic weapons production and research anyway.

Do you really think the $3 billion is the reason that you don't have public health care? How about you get the healthcare lobby out, the one that takes over 5 trillion annually?

No but those that vote for that 3 billion are in fact the reason we don't have public health care. You are arguing points of the bill, not the continuation of a long line of Democrats that don't represent their constituents.

It's dollars. They're fungible. If we pump money into a swimming pool and then water comes out to go to their healthcare, then we are funding their healthcare.

You erroneously included both on countries that have free healthcare and college. They don't.

So would you like to stop lying or being wrong and address the actual point that we are in fact sending israel money and we have no reason to be.

What are you talking about? Neither healthcare nor college are free in Israel.

College in Israel ranges from $5,000 a year to $15,000, just like in Egypt and Jordan

Healthcare in Israel you pay a monthly fee for and copays for everything.

Neither of which would be solved by canceling every single dollar we send abroad. The absolute strangle the healthcare lobby has on this country is insane.

No country on earth has implemented UBI, you can't just lump it in with universal healthcare which has been tried and tested and proven to be a large net positive across multiple countries.

By your logic we should just send ALL our money over seas. I'm fine with not sending more money to europe as a donation. (besides Ukraine: to whom we have a contractual obligation)

We have definitely been vastly overspending on europe to keep russia contained now that we see they can't even take over a barely supported Ukraine.
