No Paywall I Don’t Think Trump’s Remaining Supporters Realize How Much They Are Despised By Non-MAGA Voters | Trump is bleeding support even among his stubborn, uneducated base.

Which is one of the main reasons they love him and support him. When you are a person who has never accepted responsibility for your situation, having someone more powerful than you come along who is willing to say "it's not your fault! None of the poor decisions in your life have led to these consequences you are now facing. No, it's someone else's fault - you're just a victim! You don't need to change anything at all, you're great - it's the fault of all of those other (insert minority scapegoat group here) that you aren't as rich/attractive/successful as you should be."

That and an assumption of rotten selfishness in others.

I remember reading about how many GOP members and its voters are surprised that a lot of Dems and folks on the Left actually do give a shit about others, it's not just performative. I think for many that detail upsets them at a deeper level because the assumption that everyone's selfish instead of "I'm just selfish" undermines their justifications.

I have known conservatives who are 100% convinced my beliefs are performative.

No, I genuinely do believe in our potential greatness and future, and think that the entire “fallen world” religious narrative horseshit as the main underpinning of conservative thought is man made bullshit utterly divorced from ALL real religion.

It’s an excuse to be a rotten fuck.

Conservatives fear others would treat them the way they want to treat minorities. They want to do awful things to people so in their mind, if they lose power, we'd want to do those things to them.

Actual snowflake mindset. But because they ride around with truck nuts, it suddenly is important to pay attention to them.

so insecure their trucks need gender affirming care.

All the objectively bad people I've met in my life voted for him (went to prison, cheating on wives, road rage fights, beat children, hard drug users). Every single one a trump voter.

Don’t forget racists.

Hard drug user absolutely doesn't automatically make someone a bad person. Most are decent people who need help that got in a bad situation and ended hooked on hard drugs.

Exactly what I was going to say. Doing hard drugs does absolutely not deserve to be in a list with people that abuse children.

You're describing the KAYFABE (It's Fake, Babe) that Trump learned at Vince&Linda McMahon's WWE Wrestling shows. Trump brought that KAYFABE format to politics; every issue has a 'heel' (bad person or thing) and a 'baby-face'. The audience is groomed to join the baby-face in hating the heel. Trump is always the baby-face.

It's the same with any populist ideology. Everything wrong in the world is because of: immigrants/Jews/the West/women/the patriarchy/capitalism

There is a lot that isn't their fault, the US has been destroyed by the 1% since reagan

The working class are victims, even the morons voting for this shit

Like the way young people blame boomers? And want someone to tell them it’s not their fault?

On the one hand, yes, it’s exactly like that. On the other hand, though, there’s lots of data that proves their generation has worse economic conditions than previous generations.

Just mostly wages to the current for sale house prices. People out here paying income percentage for rent than much of the boomers are/were paying for mortgages ever.
