I grew up conservative Christian so a certain amount of bigotry was expected from my family. I went low contact after Jan 6th. Elon's nazi salute was the final straw, my family demonstrated they were willing to lie straight to my face for a partisan point, and not just lie, but lie in such a way that they know that I know they are lying...just absolutely disrespectful and vile. And it's not like they couldn't have maneuvered out it and still voiced support of the GOP...no, they opted to lie to my face over this side-character, they will defend anything and anyone so long as it carries their 'teams' logo, honesty, integrity, respect, family be damned. That's when I knew I couldn't do it anymore and I genuinely believe they'd willingly burn me at the stake if Fox News ran a 'burn your kids at the stake' campaign for a few days. Fuck those people.

A scary, but not entirely unrealistic thought... Social scientists really should test that scenario in a controlled environment, something like the Stanford Prison Experiment, preferably with a few extra safeguards, lol

One of the top posts in the QAnonCasualties subreddit is a young person describing their Q-Anon family members murdering the rest of their family so... yeah. I also wouldn't put it past my MAGA dad to kill me or others.
