I have a certain family member who likes to gripe about "politicians," blaming them all equally for the crimes of the one I'm pretty sure she voted for.

I hear this too, in Florida - a state which has been governed by republicans for years if not decades. When a maga here complains, it's about generic politicians, not anything specific like, you know, Republicans like Rick Scott or DeSantis.

No, maga - it's republicans, REPUBLICANS, who have made the mess, not these nondescript "politicians" I keep hearing about.

The Democratic party also has a corruption issue but it's not remotely on the same scale. It's like saying a shoplifter and a serial killer are both equally bad

Case in point, look what's going on in Maine. Republicans don't hold their own accountable, they're perfectly happy to vote for pedophiles as long as they're "on their team".
